IMO... no matter how realistic the visual effects appear to be, if the camera shot angle was impossible to achieve then the realism of what they are trying to portray is totally lost. And that German bomber going down over Stalingrad is what made me think about it.

Sorry. Im just being a smart ass.

Please note the the paradrop in this video is not the full version. of the movie. (a bridge to far) I cant bloody find it anymore on you tube.
On second viewing i dont think bridge to far is the greatest movie. But i stand by the idea that the paradrop on that movie is one of the best scenes in war movies history.
You see all those Danish people in the church. Then they all stop and go outside and see hundreds of real planes actually flying.
The scene gave me goosebumps. Unfortunately scenes like that will never happen these days for a number of reasons.
I also want to add that i prefer war movies to be about the operational situation. It feels more real. And with that, i think you truly get to see the tragedy of war. Its more powerful than a drawn out scene of watching some character die.
I remember the part on longest day when the guy gets shot after hearing two clicks. Another favorite scene.

Sorry im ranting

HERE WE GO I FOUND IT! (its poor quality)

I mean look at this shit! 1:08 onwards! Breath taking
Its emotional just looking at it! Guys did that! In the movie and in real life.

I was young at the time and haven't watched it in years but i remember the para drop in band of brother made me sick.
So in some way i think the longest day and even Zulu are more real than any thing they could hope to attempt today.
Or am i wrong?

Your video Bungarra inspires me. Even though visual effects normally look tacky and unrealistic this video does look pretty good.

I must say that this Stalingrad movie looks very interesting. And the video makes me want to watch the film.
They are finally giving war movies the lord of the ring treatment. WW2 was huge. And i think they need this type of technology to do battles justice. Despite initial skepticism i want to watch it.

Thanks for the upload Bungarra Very Happy
