What happened to that forum where you could post things about other games?

I wanted to show my Romani campaign on Rome: Total War using the Europa Barbarorum mod. Most fun with a video game I've had in a while.

You got that right. I'm so immersed on this.

Using Alex.exe and Roma Surrectum II environments.

Status of current Campaign:

Faction: SPQR (Roman)
Year: 216BC
At war with: Carthage (Role-playing 2nd punic war), Aedui, Macedon
Allied with: Lusotani, Averni, Epeiros, Getai, Arche Seleukeia.
Currently campaigning in: Southern Iberia, Peloponnese. Defensive stances in southern coast of Gallia Transalpina, Northern African province of Byzacena.
Standing Legions:
-1 in Iberia subduing the Carthaginian provinces there. Led by the Heir and best General I've ever had so far in this mod (full management and influence, 5 stars of command), already has the 'Seen the elephant' trait, meaning that he has fought more than 25 battles.
-1 in the Peloponnese fighting the Macedonians. I recaptured Athens again, after I had captured the first time I gave the province to the Greeks but they lost it again, and since they broke the alliance with me I just kept it this time.
-1 in charge of northern Italy and southern coast of Gallia Transalpina. Led by a locally recruited General.
-1 old Camillan legion guarding the Balkans stationed in Singidunum.

House Rules:
-One full stack of 20 units = one Legion
-In Camillan/Polybian era (Current) a Legion consists of: 1xVelites, 3xHastati, 2xPrincipes, 1xTriarii and 1xEquites form the core Roman component. The rest is local auxiliaries or Italian allies.
-Armies are always led by a General, no captain led armies.
-No retraining of units, just merging.
-Expanding on a quasi historical way.

Cool.

I had a epic game as Carthage.

My main base was Tunisia. I spent a huge amount of time fighting the civilization of Egypt.
My main strategy with them was to wait for them and defend bridges.
I loved recruiting cheap spear throwing militia and those African tribes men.  I would hold them off on a bridge and rain arrows and spears into them.

I eventually pushed west and took morocco. I then took the very bottom of Spain until Spain was surrounded by the Romans.

It was then i started investing huge amounts of money and time into building vast mining networks. In the long run it made me alot of money.

I got so angry with the Egyptian civilization i ended dumping this massive army of elephants, elite soldiers, and siege weapons on the Nile.
My goal was to hurt them as much as possible. Enslave there population, destroy/delete there buildings. Just cause havoc.
The endeavor bankrupted my economy. And militarily it was the biggest disaster in human history. Smile
My army's were destroyed in a series of freak mistakes and incidents.
The war with Egypt continued for literally hundreds of years afterwards.

I thought it was all over when the Romans finally declared war on me.

Just recently, i have taken the island of Sicily. And finally managed to take Rome! The Romans are obviously finding the barbarians to the north difficult. After i took Rome and butchered the civilians, i took huge amount of pleasure in deleting all of Romes expensive buildings. They took Rome back but im sure my "sacking of Rome" has done long term damage to them.

How quickly they will fold to me and the barbarians is uncertain.  But i look forward to playing some more. Its undoubtedly the longest game of Total war i have ever played.
