I have just completed the Crossroads at Bizory.
This is my first attempt at making a map from an
arial view. This area is located N.E. of Bastogne.
Elements of the 5th Panzer army (78th Volks Gren. Reg.)
went thru here on their way to Bastogne and ran into
the 101st Airborne (501st).
(The map takes the place of Noville)

You can view this map in the Combat Camera user galleries
under Ernie_M.

Finally, a BIG thanks to the Web Masters at CCS for hosting my
maps AND the people who developed the map/testing tools that
made them possible!

Thanks for the maps Ernie!

"Maps tend be the hardest/slowest part of any mod"

Not if your like me and CHEAT!
Laughing

For me, the "Bulge" maps are easy to do.
CC5 maps? ........ FORGET IT!

Thanks platoon_michael

The map was basically very easy,
Bizory is just a little one horse town!

Now, if you wan't a REAL fun time, get
Ettelbruck!

I have all of your maps Ernie

I wouldnt miss a one that you create.
I have read many a books on the BoB theater and even have a grandfather who served in the 80th Inf. Div. who was wounded somewhere near Luxemburg.
It is a theater I have always covered.

If you dont mind me saying I would however reconsider the vehicles you use for your maps.
When one compairs them to the vehicles from TT's mod during game play they just dont quite fit in.
The cars look a little out of scew.
One idea would be to use the images for the deuce & half from TT's vehicle file.
As for the cars I have no idea.

Please belive me im not ungratefull and comming from one who cant create a map (thats me) may be discourging to some.
I hope you consider it for what it is,which is just an obversation.

I truly hope you continue to share your work with us ,for without people like you CCIV would die.

Great looking map Ernie, your work just keeps getting better. I love the new snow texture you use, it give a real "bumpy 3D " look.

You should have it Mr. Mooxe!

Hello platoon_michael

I did use TT's vehicles in many cases...it's the "Scale" I have problems with.
I should have paid more attention in Art and Mech. Drawing class when I
was in school! But then again, the scale, (Troops, Buldings, Vehicles) in
CC is questionable anyway.
I guess your "Stuck" with the "Crappy" cars...it's too late
to change them now.....

Hello pvt_Grunt

Thanks for the compliments....but I must confess. I "Stole" that
snow texture!

Yes, the snow is nice, but I had to do alot of airbrush to make it
look real good. However, the really good thing about that snow is
that the *.bgm file "Zips" down 70 to 80%! The end result of which
is a smaller final *.zip file for uploading...

I played the map last night, very fun indeed.
Keep up the "GREAT" work.
Your maps are bringing new life to my favorite game.

Hello Plt_M

Great, glad you like it. To tell the truth, I was getting pissed off with it
and almost gave up. I didn't think it would make for an interesting
play. Not much "cover" there. Also, It was somewhat difficult to make
out some of the things on the ground so I had to use my imagination in some cases.....

Have you tried Ettelbruck? I think it's a much better map.
One thing about it though, I always seem to get my ASS
kicked on this map!! (VetBOB 1.13 playing German)

Regards, and once again thanks for the input.

Yes I have Ettelbruck.
That is another great map.
It's hard to get used to the LOS on the new maps after many years of playing the originals but im sure I'll get it soon.
Just a matter of playing thats all.

Thanks, you make me feel good, I worked hard on
that puppy!

"It's hard to get used to the LOS on the new maps after many

Your statement is easy enough to understand but I'm
NOT sure of what you mean....
Confused

What's the difference? Is there something new that a
map maker should know?

Nothing on your part .

Just after years of playing the same maps over and over and over and then "boom" something new, really throws ones game off.
I knew all the spots to hide/ambush/attack before.
Now I have to learn it all over on a new map thats all.

Text can be so hard to decipher sometimes.
