Read the article to see they can't confirm any Russian deaths, no evidence of Russia mercs. Even US said - Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and other U.S. officials said they had no such information on casualties, and the Kremlin did not confirm any Russian deaths. U.S. officials also said the Russian government had lodged no complaint about its citizens being killed.

The death of the so called free press even if it is owned by the same Corporations that benefit from conflicts, arms sales, regime change and military contracts.

So there was Russians - I stand corrected, cheers. They weren't part of any recognized Russian outfit or even part of 200 - https://www.stuff.co.nz/world/middle-east/101422387/us-forces-kill-more-than-200-russian-fighters-in-syria

It's still false reporting and certainly fake. It seems going by this, if 1 Russian dies you just multiply by 100 to get the total - Vietnam style.

Both the Times and Post articles are based on reports from Russian media, Interfax & TASS. Thus, it would seem to the unbiased observer that if false reporting and faked news were the case in this instance, then it originated from Russia...including the Russian state-run news agency (aka corporate ownership).

This begs the question - why would Russian media be faking bad news about Russian involvement in Syria? Or are these reports actually pravda intended to prepare Russians for more body bags from 'unrecognized' Russian outfits aiding the Assad regime?

mick - To answer your question - why would any media report unverified releases - propaganda. Remember Russia has it's elections coming up. It's where you glean your information sources from that matters and to verify sources / investigate - not to publish sensational stories for their own agendas.

How many times have both sides in the Syrian / Iraqi conflict said they have killed Al Baghdadi now through the media. Or even the Sarin Gas lies in Syria - the latest chlorine gas attack in Syria - after close examination the chlorine was released at ground level and not by a dropped device. Previous attacks pointed at Syrian Govt however these incidents once under a proper investigation show the Moderate Rebels time and again were the perp's - staged attacks using the likes of Al Nusra's " white helmets ", Sarin gas canisters showing Saudi A and Kuwait manufacture.

Many U.S. and Russian arms were captured over the years it could be anyone. Sod you must really be a paid Russian blogger. Everything is always USA's fault at all times. You are a true loyal soldier to Russian regime or you get paid well or both. You are from Leningrad, no?

They HATE both USA and Russia. It's a train wreck. Iran funds many of them because they HATE the Sunni's and ISIS. Yet USA under the Trump dictatorship hates Iran but tried to fight the very same factions that hate them?

Russia is smart to try to blame USA for their loss. Let them fight it out in Syria. Good luck with that.

DJ - Where did I accuse US solely of being the problem. I said media and as this story started in rUSsia. Also as I have stated, it's coming to Russian Elections again so opposition media have started on propaganda again. Much like during the US Elections. You really need to get out and see the rest of the world to open your eyes a little. Your lack of knowledge and understand of how many countries view others is sadly lacking, borderline child like to be fair. If you were a pro US Govt paid blogger ( which I know you aren't..............lol. ) I'm sure your employer would have been asking for their money back and even suspecting that maybe the Russian's have turned you.

DJ was that my boss Vlad.....lol. Of course Russia has elections overseen by neutral parties. Putin enjoys 82% approximate approval from his citizens as polling has shown. Just look at how many times Putin is accredited with being the world's most influential person. How many times has Hillary made that milestone or will it be a millstone for her.

I'm not Russian but will be traveling there soon after a trip to the Morocco and Egypt and Southern Europe - work. The Russian Govt pays very well. In reality I am from New Zealand - the land of the AB's, hunting and fishing - stores called that too, Cricket - Black Caps, Scott Dixon, PM Jacinda - socialist and very good. Ask any question on NZ and should be able to give the answer.

I read one article where these US trained rebels are leaving the US safe zone to fight the Turks on the border. I wonder when the country will be given back to the legitimate Syrian Govt and their allies to police.
