Thanks to people as you, nobody would make mods. It is a matter of respects.

But one very different thing is a private thing which you do not show to anybody and it be in your computer. What you make in your computer.........I do not care. Nobody cares.....

As I said before, my next CC mod will show you and the others before as the real reason because people can not play it. It will be even fun and you will know about it very soon.

It's hard to believe that people are arguing over games that are
antiquated and hardly played anymore.

I've modified many "Mods" to my preferances and made some maps
for others to enjoy. One map was used in "Close Combat Wacht Am Rhein"
and others were uploaded to another Web site without my permission or credit.
Did I complain? .....NO.

If you don't want your work modified, copied, stolen, etc., then don't put it on the Web!

Gentlemen, there are MORE important things in life to worry about!

And ?   all what you said seems to gloss over the way a community operates. Not that normada needs defending but i took his side on this.. Technically I took the side of the community as these are unwritten rules that have been apart of this community since the beginning.. For me that was 1999/2000..  OR any modding community for that matter.. A community cannot survive if there are no ethical standards. So stop trying to normalize unethical behavior..

and with this , you miss the point entirely... Its not about the game but about community standards..  Have we lowered the bar so fucking low that this type of behavior is acceptable?  If so, ill leave and will not be back.. and I have been and IM STILL one of the  the biggest CC proponents around...

I for one very much appreciate all of the hard work that CC modders have done for so many years and have not asked for anything in return as far as any kind of remuneration. Since there is an "unwritten rule" in effect to ask for permission before changing an existent mod that someone has put some much time and thought into creating; I am all for respecting that. More than most at this site, I depend on these mods to help pass my time on the job. I have all of the games and have played nearly all of the mods that have been made available for use. I would have even been willing to pay for same mods if need be. In case it needs to be said, I would not want anything to get in the way of someone deciding not to put a mod for general use because someone else thought the unwritten rules were archaic or outmoded.

If I may be so bold to suggest though, it seems to me that there are some really good mods that have been on existence for so many years and yet the creators seem to be unavailable for one reason or another. It seems to be many of these mods could be updated to work with the newer games with little trouble. Although me saying this I really have no idea how much trouble or work this entails. I am only putting this out for consideration.
