So they are stories of actual people? These houses are all spread across 5 or more CC games.

In this case, an actual person (Maj. Gen. Roy Urquhart) in roughly, relative to St E's, the actual location his 'house arrest' happened. Atomic made some serious effort towards historical accuracy with CC2, even commissioning aerial photos to be taken in the Arnhem area. Hard to say about the other 'house' VLs you mention. OTOH, the 'house' VLs in PITF were simply plucked from a list of French names.
