Most of us know that a fire on a carrier is bad shit....

Amazingly no fatalities yet and thorough training is all I can put it down too

These Naval machines are obviously full of ordinance......

So it is wonder it is not  a lot more severe...

Hope they don't pour it too much... such ships tends to capsize if overweighs at high.

22 year old ship. I wonder if they will scrap, reef it, or turn into a museum.

They put the USS Yorktown back into business in a matter of days when it was needed.. sure completely different circumstances... 5-7 years at almost 3.2b to restore the Bonhomme? All I got to say is those contractors know how to quote the government!

Norway had the same issue https://www.popularmechanics.com/military/navy-ships/a28171095/norway-will-scrap-sunken-frigate/
The trouble is not the ship hull issues, but a lot of internal systems, which integrated at time of building and do not allow easy replace. In case of huge damages, especially from fire, you should first remove remaining parts of previous systems, than split the hull to parts and reinstall new systems, reproducing  construction time at shipyard. Not surprise costs rise rocket high
