Been a long time since last conventional war in Europe...looks like this is going to happen

Kiev civilians starting to evacuate.  Guessing Russia will seek to cut off and surround Kiev in next few weeks.

It seems that Russia will not only invade Donbas. They will probably overthrow the current goverment and replace it with a fellow one.

Besides, IMO, they historically now the terrain and odds well. It will not be like USA, or generally speaking West, involving into Iraq or Afghanistan.

Yes they are doing it because they can and nobody can stop them.  Russia can keep trading with China / Iran / Venezuela / Belarus. Horrible history lecture by Putin though to his people, calling Ukraine govt Nazi's was gaslighting and trolling.

Seems like Russia is holding back using light probing attacks, keep vast majority of forces in reserve.  It took 700k Soviet troops to re-capture Kiev from the Germans in '43.  Doubt Russia has deployed even 100k to siege Kiev at this point.

Not sure if you can lose 3000 personnel in light probing attacks. Link

Yes I would have to agree - if Ukrainian forces truly did knock out 100 Russian tanks where's the evidence?  Not buying it sorry to say.

Its very early to tell what casualties are.

The term "tank" is usually given to all armoured type vehicles by the media and civilians.

There are lots of Reddit forums where you can see video from the conflict;

https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/
https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/
https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/

In many cases the commenters will invalidate the video if it is not from this current war.

I really didn't think it would be a full invasion. I expected a limited operation to take another slice of Ukraine.

Putin is crazy to think this will work for Russia in 2022, his main ally Trump is gone and Nato would mop the floor with Russian troops if they were sent in.
But then men like Putin dont really care about little things like that do they? When their decisions dont work out they simply blame others right?

Also, its only day 3. Historically campaigns of this size play out over many weeks and months. I feel it will be a long painful year for the Ukrainian people  Crying or Very sad

In any war their is an aggressor..... So full of himself that he cannot see the light of day from his ego..

He sends his lambs to the slaughter to satisfy his megalomaniac tendencies and try's to justify killing peoples / countries to say his outdated ideas are right.

I think Vlad just shot himself in the foot... Xing better take note...

I will go further here...... I was with that German Admiral who said you don't give Vlad the respect he deserves.....

But Vlad has let me and Russia down... he is a Rabid dog going for the throat and the western world sees this and someone will put him down.....

There is too much at stake......

Get rid of the Pitbull and even Russia will breathe a sigh of relief from the oppression that his regime creates....

Do you think Russians want to kill their brothers in Ukraine for Vlad.....

Vlad Bin Laden..... he's a fucking dead man walking.. and it won't be the western powers that do it....

Good Riddance

Russia still seems to be holding back core invasion forces in reserve.  Either they want to rotate in fresh troops or waiting before the real invasion.  Need to wait for civilians to finish evacuations to clear more space.  Huge lines at Polish border.  Ukraine forces exposing their positions vs Russian sacrificial lamb slaughter.  Then Russia will bring in the real invasion later and seal western border from Poland.  Casualty counts still not verified.

No Trump unfortunately is NOT gone.  I was hoping Putin can pick him up and take back to Russia in exile.  USA still under threat of Trump Coup and another medieval style siege of our capital.  He is firmly under control of the opposition party still and just gave praise to Putin over the weekend as "genius".

I agree. Many news outlets are calling this way too soon. While it is encouraging to see Ukrainian strong opposition this is a long way from over. Surely, SURELY, Russian military has a plan B now the Kyiv has not fallen after 3 days.

Also some good news, Trumpf is VERY quiet after his typically ill thought out day 1 comments, he must be SHITTING his enormous shorts now that his master Vlad is persona non grata world wide. He is is SERIOUS danger of losing his cash source with increased sanctions taking effect.

As for the Russian military, they still have their old problem of being made up of Russian soldiers  Rolling Eyes

Finally the real invasion force headed towards Kiev.  Satellites photos show mostly trucks those are infantry teams. Kharkov looks like old WW2 battlefield hell hole.

Surprised by the huge anti war protests in Russia.  Now economy is starting to really suffer, the sanctions hurt the people much more than the leaders.

Here's one video as example in St. Petersburg.  We see other news media footage showing same thing in Moscow and I would assume other large cities.  I saw one old Russian lady in front of police complaining and they did not arrest her maybe because too old and police gets tired of this.  Note the Police buses parked on street to arrest the protesters in large groups.
