On the more fantastical how about a sci fi mod (Dune and Halo would use the basic mechanics of CC while adding to the features taking in regards shields during squad on squad battles).
Or renaissance era pike and shot mod of CC where squads of pikemen and muskets fire and stab each other with a focus on managing the psychology and health during the pike pushes.
