I would like to know how to change the repainted Bastogne map in VETBoB back to the original one,and maybe move a few other maps around as well.
But dont know how,I think I have a general idea but thought I would check with my peers to be sure.

Can anyone chime in and give me some help?
Thank-you in advance for the help

Yes, I understand why you want to go back,
many of those maps are "Hard on the Eyes"!
(If I'm not mistaken, the author "Shrunk" that
map too).

Just copy the orginal Bastogne map files from the cd back
into the maps folder and that should do the trick!

As far as "changing maps around", I believe you would
have to modify the Index.mpi file with a Hex editor.

It's good to see that someone other than myself still
likes BOB...I have be busy inlarging and inhancing
many of the original maps..(Most of the Orginals were just too
small!). I also recently created a new one called "Butgenbach".
This village was located on the Northern shoulder of
the Bulge, (about 20 km or so from Stavelot) Very Happy

Hey Ernie_M

It would be cool to see what you have finished.I havent seen many maps done for CCIV.I hope you will share with us ?

I got the replacement thing down now.My problem was I didnt replace the BTD in the VETBoB folder.

Pvt.Grunt did a real nice Malmandy map for CCIV that can be found here.

Hello Platoon M.,

Good to see you got your problem fixed.

No, I don't mind sharing the maps, but that will depend on
the Web Master...I've inlarged 23 CCIV maps thus far.
All have be tested and work...

Yes, I D/L the Malmady map, Nice!

The only NEW map I've created is called Butgenbach.
My Father was there with the 1st Div. A tough map
to play...Lots of snow and heavly wooded. Road ways
are fairly accurate but the dwellings are made up.
(Couldn't find a arial view of the place).

I would make more maps for CCIV if I had the Arial
views.....

Hello Platoon M,

Sorry, I don't have Instant Messenger.

I'm sort of "Old Fashioned", only have 56k dial up
using a Pent. 233mz. and Win 98se...But let me
tell you, every thing I put on this machine concerning
Close Combat WORKS!

I will e-mail you a small Butgenbach.Jpg to check out.

Hello Mr. Mooxe,

Sure you can host my cc4 maps. But we're talking appx 100mb!
I can e-mail you a few sample jpg's if you wish.
You can review these just to be sure you want me
to upload.....

I really didn't think that anyone played CC4 anymore except me
and TT of VetBoB fame. The last time I spoke with him he
said that people would be interested...but I told him no,
everyone seemed to be playing and making mods for CC5!

Please let me clarify to ALL who may be interested in these
maps: The maps are similar to the orginals except they are
larger, (but not too large). They contain additional dwellings
and other items plus "surprises" to make them more interesting
to play. I also reviewed all the coding of these maps for mistakes
and corrected where needed.
You'd be suprised at the "Sloppy" coding contained in the
orginal maps!

There may not be many of us left, but you have got one diehard CCIV fan right here in me.I cant wait to play the maps you made, that jpeg looked great to me.

If anything I think CCIV is the better of the series,I like the snow maps,I like the rolling terrain, and I dont care that I cant choose my own troops, makes you have to fight both offensively and Defensive.

Fire that 56k up and let it upload all night Wink

Yes Platoon M, I agree...and where else can you
see those King Tigers...Outstanding!

I am willing to U/L to this site and I will Mail Mr. Mooxe
to make arraigments.....

I must state and be clear at this time for all who
are interested:
These maps are NOT NEW! I retained the look
of the originals and then inLarged them and
used my imgination as to what should be in
the new portions....Added houses here and there
and other items that Go BOOM!

My Stavelot is nice, just like in reality there is a Fuel
Dump u must capture without blowing it up!

Difficult, but noy impossible....

Hello AA_Brian,

Yes, I am surprised, I thought only PLT Michael, Pvt Grunt and
myself played that "Relic" BOB Smile

I just finished a map called Hofen, (Bulge, North sector,
south of Monschau). Currently testing, will upload soon.
Nice Map, plays well.

Also have Rocherath in the works, (it's appx. 4 km east of
Butgenbach). This one is really different!

You feel CC4 is the best of the series, some may dispute
that....But I AGREE. Also my Father was at BOB with the
1st. Div 26th Reg., thus MY interest.

Thanks for the invite!

BTW you can see D/L Butgenbach, Bullingen, & Luzery
at this Web site. Try them out if you get a chance.

I really appreciate your work and that from TT...

I like playing more with cc4 and cc2 than with Utah Beach cc5 ( only with TT Vet mod i really enjoy it!), but I need to ask you why are you enlarging the stock maps instead of the repainted maps which I think are more tollerable to the eyes... Even if I really don't like the St Vith repainted map (especially the terrain in the northeast of the map!) but it is just my taste!

I hope that you have enlarge the Esch sur Sure map which I think too small in order to move troops without being fired as a Geese flocks!
