Here are some stats taken from the server. Do not go by the numbers shown on the download link on the website, they are hugely inaccurate... I did not tally up the individual map downloads.

For September

Stalingrad Map Pack 61.24 GB = 123 Completed downloads

For October (to October 16th, current time of post)

Stalingrad Map Pack - 223.27 GB = 571 Completed downloads.
Plugin - 38.86 GB = 593 Completed downloads.

Now taking into account broken or cancelled downloads we are still looking at over 500 people having this mod.

Heres some more info on total daily bandwidth. Daily average before Stalingrad was released was 20 GB per day.

Oct 11th - 69 GB Transferred (Stalingrad Plugin released)
Oct 12th - 41 GB
Oct 13th - 40 GB
Oct 14th - 73 GB
Oct 15th - 58 GB
Oct 16th - 22 GB (so far today at time of this post)

I think the vast majority of people who play CC do not play online. I wonder why?

If you guys here need a faster connection (thought that dling the mods and maps is rather slow here) feel free to contact me!

i have 2 TB (= 2000 GB) of Traffic free each month with a high speed connection (some 10MB/s) here (Germany).

Would be nice if I could help you out a bit if needed!

I could also provide a very stable and fast MySQL server, as I noticed that yours is having some problems recently!

Thank you but the problem is cleared up. Here's what happened....

"Planet Lab" http://www.planet-lab.org/ does some sort of internet research. Somehow we got caught in the fray. This server was pummelled with about 2000 requests for the /CCS/index.php document every 3 hours for 1 week. It crippled the site for 10-15 minutes on each attack and left the Apache server with several hung jobs that took up 100% of the CPU. I did my best to stave them off, eventually blocking 200+ IPs at the Kernel level. I also emailed them telling them to stop. Seems to have subsided for now, the logs arent showing anything and the site seems back to normal.

I think the reason why many people don't play CC online is because
for most its there frist game some times to play online and don't want to
be called a newbie Very Happy or its just everyone loves there FPS way too much
also internet lingo I know when I first started playing online I thought

lol... love that avatar rs!! btw its takin me 21 days to d/l stalingrad on 56k some maps three times and plugin 4 times to get a non corrupted file.... now thats dedication... and my comment ?... worth every hour of d/l time.. excellent !! the dedication of the cc community is amazing !! my thoughts on all those people who have d/l it but dont appear on gs, well i think a lot of people would be playing their friends down the road on tcp as i did, and the newbie factor is rellevant i think i sat online in gs for about 2 weeks before i was game enough to talk to sombody, and understand what they were saying, but by and all most newbies get all the help they need from a number of old hands... coming on to the world stage and fighting isnt everybodys cup of tea... but it sure is fun and what a way to learn the delicate art of cc by having the likes of mooxe/ zappi/ rs/ L4W/ belting the piss out of u. Nice to see the problems fixed, but download speed still seems a bit slow to me.
If you need a faster bandwith any time, contact me.

I belive time is more of a factor than anything for people not playing online.

With firewalls/connection issues/waiting for friends to get ready can sometimes take 30 min. or more just to get the game up and running.

Compound that with picking forces, deploying them, getting a strategy then playing it can be very hard to do.

Sometimes you think ahh what the heck I can squeeze a game in real quick with our current G.C.

Next thing you know is it's "DAVE" get off the computer.
