#1: can't run game, even with patch. I too had CCIV not functioning on my computer. I put it on a shelf. overtime updated all my drivers, system bios and did a careful install of the game tonight.
I suggest you do the same. Update your system, bios, drivers, windows, and then restart and a careful installation.
program DriverDetective-v8 is a free tool to check all your drivers at once.
Specifics of my installations were: say no to outdated direct-x and media player. And when installing the patch, yes to all read only files.
