#1: Mafi's new and updated tools... Author: mooxe PostPosted: Sat Jan 07, 2006 3:31 am

Mafi has created a new tool called, 5CC here http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=3362
v1.02b1. (PC and MAC version included in zip) Its one of the most powerful tools
created in a few years for modding Close Combat. Its intended to modify map data
for CC2/3/4/5RtB and CCM, its not a graphics editor. Mafi has taken his time to
create two extremely detailed (PDF) manuals for the functions of 5CC which are
included in the zip file. 5CC's functions are as follows,

- create a map filled with default datas,
- import your graphics as background (and if available a
seperate layer containing background with interior views),
- edit/define your terrain values (you will view always
your background graphic), - edit/define your elevations,
- define your roofs,
- for CC2: define your bridge blown graphics area - and if
necessary: defining the datas of the repaired bridge and the
repaired bridge graphics area,
- generate LOS, with the ability to edit LOS (LOS will be
calculated while respecting the elevation, terrain type’s
height and the terrain type’s level),
- generate your OVM and MMM graphics,
- save your work into files according the filename rules of your
intended CC game.

CC2 Tools http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=1827  (PC and MAC version included in zip) has also been updated
to v4.1. This tools functions is to convert existing RtB/CC5, CC4 and CC3 (custom) maps
to CC2 format to use them on the Mac and to have better MacOS-like access to other
CC2 files not already covered by Chris Ellens’ tool "CCEdit" or my CC2-Soundeditor
"myMook". Mafi has included a detailed manual in this tool also. Some of the functions
of this tool are as follows,

- rotating map’s data, background, roof and bridge files
90° counterclockwise and flipping them vertically,
- joing two maps’ data, background or roof files to one file,
- creating plain map data files from scratch,
- can do some manipulations to increase the number of teams in CC2,
- and many more functions.

CC2 Spriter http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=1152(PC and MAC version included in zip) has been updated to v2.81 by
Mafi. As usual a very detailed manual is included. The purpose of this tool is
as follows,

- extracting / rebuilding the CC2 sprite files (indicated by the
header ID (first four bytes) "SPRI"). Sorry, but Soldier/SoldierB
files cannot be rebuilded by this tool,
- extracting / rebuilding the CC3’s Terrain file (header ID "SPRI"),
- extracting / rebuilding CC3’s vehicle shadow files (*.nsd / *.zsd,
header ID "SPRI"),
- extracting / rebuilding the CC4/CC5/CCM/RoadToBaghdad Terrain files
(header ID "IRPS"), TerrainA.stm (header ID "ALPH") and CC4-RtB-vehicle-shadow
*.spr files (header ID "IRPS" with varying version-ID),
- extracting the main graphical contents out of the CC3/.../RtB files
stored in *.ZFX and *.AZP archives (includes interpreting the file
"FXData.fx", this portion of the source code is copyrighted material
by Cpl_Filth, used with his explicit permission),
- extracting / rebuilding CC3’s ZFX files.

Finally, Mafi has updated his RTB Tool http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=2015
(PC and MAC version included in zip) to v2.11. RtBTool is for modding
the *.mpi, *.gdg, *.azp, *.pix and *.tex files of the games CC4/CC5/CCM/RtB. New
in v2.11 is the ability to resize editing windows to to 600x400 via menubar for
small monitors.

These tools and thier documentation can also be downloaded from Mafi's website
at http://www.ftf.claranet.de/ & http://www.ftf.claranet.de/

Thnx fo rthe compliments, but it looks like I must rework CC2Spriter or must do a little bit more clarifying on the ZFX file format. Look at Shadows.zfx thread.

Hi Folks,

CC2Spriter updated to handle wrong encoded ZFXs: v2.8.2 is online at my site.

Sorry for the inconvienience. And perhaps more is possible if I will find the time to investigate *.fx files.
