All,

Band of Brothers is back on line, I'm glad to announce! I was able to recover most of my files after my hard drive crash and have rebuilt everything else.

I have downloaded maps for the game:
England/Normandy
Albourne (HQ)
Brecourt Manor (V2)
Foucarville
St Marie Du Mont (St Mer Egilise)
Carentan and Carentan Causeway
Holland
LZ W
Veghel
Son
Nuenan
Nijmegen
Nijmegen Bridge
Eindhoven
Helmond (Auvll Map from RegExtra)
Ardennes
Bois Jacques (Bois8)
Bastogne
Foy
Noville
Alsace France
2 Maps
Hagenau
Austria
2 Maps to represent Berchtesgaden and the Eagle's Nest

1 Problem I have though, is I am no artist. I have been unable to create a satisfactory strat map that shows every place in Europe Easy was stationed.

My temp fix right now is to rename the maps in Normandy and to sector the Normandy strat map out (Normandy, Holland, Ardennes, Alsace, Austria)

Anyway, for those of you interested in the mod, that is where I stand. My next step is to do some more research and determine exactly which units fought with Easy so that I can add them to the Force Pool.

Also, can anyone give me guidance on how to change the bitmap strat/unit icons in the graphics folder?

Final note, thanks for all your encouragement as I make this mod!

Bel

CSO_Linebacker

Thanks for the assist on the maps...there was a by-line in Ambrose's BOB that states Easy was on the fringes of Foucarville to back up the 501st and 502nd. That was the only reason I put it in. But, again, thanks for the recommendations, it gives me a little more to go on.

I have downloaded and installed all Maps...just in the testing/rewriting btd phase of the maps. Currently also working on data files, ensuring historical data is correct (so don't be surprised that if on the 1-3 days of the game you only have Easy Cmd team and maybe as support squad).

I do have one problem, though. My Noville map (which had to be renamed Viervll) keeps crashing. The game says the Viervll txt is corrupted. I have downloaded Noville from various sources (CSO, my org. CCIV disk, the AO and Battle of the Bulge games from this site), even used CC3toCC5 converter tool but each time it crashes.

My current "duct tape" fix is a copy of Foy txt renamed and placed in the game. But, now I get trees on roads and buildings that are not really there.

Anyone have any recommendations or helps?

Thanks!

Have you tried add cc5 and cc4 maps? You will can not add green and snow maps on Close Combat 5 without many crash.

But........I have one new idea.........you should can add cc5 and cc4 maps converted to cc3 elements without problems and next I recomend you use the elements.adb, terrain and terrainA.stm from my mod CC5 A Bridge Too Far.

And next probably to see well the maps, you should edit some trees with 3c.

Ah to these maps you always can use the same btd file from CC5, you only should edit it with btdedit.

On the end of my description I recomend you to do one new index.mpi, rename maps is not a good idea, you only need one hexadecimal editor, I will put on this forum later one guide to use it with index.mpi file.

Hey fellow Modders and those of the Close Combat Series clan, just wanted to give you an update and bad news. Band of Brothers is on hold indefinitely.

For those of you in the military you will understand and for those of you not, please understand....I am currently someplace, but can not tell you where. It was one of those "grab your seabag, Sailor, it's time to go" situations. I had enough time to throw my lap top and my CC5 disc into a case and move out.

My online access is limited. When my time here is complete, I'll try and return to Band of Brothers...if the wife hasn't taken the computer, the kid and the dog that is! LOL

I'll check into the Site when I can just to keep my account active. Until then, I see a lot of great work out there and we all appreciate it.

good luck and enjoy!

Is anyone else going to look into helping out on this mod of making their own BoB mod? I really want all the squad names + correct squad weapons etc Very Happy Is there one out anywhere? Or is it just a case of waiting and seeign what happens with this mod?
