Author: king_tiger_tank, Location: the Band and State of KansasPosted: Tue Nov 21, 2006 10:47 pm thanks to a virus this weekend on my computer, my parents thought that Gamespy was where it came from so they preminately banned me from Gamespy. Right now I'm weeping in a corner. :cry2

#3: Author: Vman, Posted: Wed Nov 22, 2006 3:35 pm Yea my virus scanner warns me about PUPs coming from gamespy, I tell it to trust the program because, well, it's Gamespy. I doubt they've be haxing my computer with viruses...
#4: Author: king_tiger_tank, Location: the Band and State of KansasPosted: Wed Nov 22, 2006 11:47 pm whats funny is that it came from my younger sibling downloading a game on it, but my parents don't believe and tell me to get rid of gamespy.
#5: Author: RD_Helmut, Posted: Sat Nov 25, 2006 3:39 pm Gamespy used to show up on my Nortons as a virus. In past 6 months they have changed something and it no longer does. But it is still filled with Spyware.
The RD clan does not generally sit in Gamespy to play games:
1. Waste of time sitting around
2. Direct connect is faster, and avoids playing without 3rd pary middle ware (one more thing to make your game crash).
3. Teamspeak and MSN is much more social way to play the game.
Best of luck

#7: Author: Ivan_Zaitzev, Posted: Mon Apr 23, 2007 10:04 pm Sorry but... Is there a way to play CC whitout gamespy? a direct conection knowing the IP or something like that of your oponent?
#8: Author: Pzt_Wruff, Location: Pzt Befehl HauptsitzPosted: Tue Apr 24, 2007 3:43 am Yes. Unless you're running Windows Vista, in which case your muliplayer I.P. screen is gone.
#9: Author: a880, Posted: Tue Apr 24, 2007 7:56 pm There's an option in the main menu that says "multiplayer."
#10: Author: Ivan_Zaitzev, Posted: Tue Apr 24, 2007 9:59 pm OK, this is what i did.
First, i choose the MULTIPLAYER option
Then INTERNET UDP, and SEARCH GAME
But theres no game apearing, am i doing something wrong or i first must set up an hour with somebody to be sure that i have an oponent?
#11: Author: Ozka, Posted: Wed May 09, 2007 1:46 pm You cant find games by just searching the subnet, you'll need your opponents IP (and he must have a server created under TCP/IP). Or you create and give him the IP, if you're looking for players I'll be glad to fight you anytime

That's quite unfortunate, good luck getting back online!
