Here it is. It has an additional file called 'sprite.tga' that is basicly a replacement of those tiny soldiers with one large one to see with more detail what you have done. You need Java virtual machine for this to work.

Ivan, I'm a little lost as to what your trying to do, and were your problem is.

But any ways, in CC2 the US Army uses Slots 15,16,17, which is slot 0 in the teams file.

I been looking that program and i don´t know how to use it, it don´t fit into my screen and i can´t change the body color. The colors you see are not the colors you get. Rigth?
And how do i know which number is which tipe of soldier it just give me from 0 to 7.

I must open the Soldiers file rigth? This is the only file that i can use with this program. Wath am i doing wrong?

Ahh, ok.

Well first off, you need to have the Soldier Color Editor. Get it here.
http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=595&ttitle=Soldiercoloreditor.zip

Then start it up. Pick "CC2", and Hit "Ok".

When the new window opens up hit "File", go to "open" and click it.

Find the CC2.exe you want to edit and hit "open".

Then move it the "Solider Number" from "0" to "15".

And edit the colors values. Its best not to change the weapons or the unkowns.

I have always thought of the Soviet Naval Infantry as being a very dark blue,
not pure black. So heres a quick look at what I came up with in five minutes.

Any ways remeber that you must make the changes to 15, 16, and 17.

Then when your done hit "file" hit "save" and save it as the same cc2.exe as
you opened up.

Ivan, you need to select the CC2.EXE, NOT the soldier file and make sure you have installed the Java virtual machine.

Nembo, do you have the chart to see the corresponding numbers for cc2? because the excel spreadsheet that I have is for cc3,cc4 and cc5.

well you mentioned that you can't see the whole screen and that you have a resolution of 800*600, maybe thats it, because when you try to choose what number you want to modify a combo box appears showing numbers 0 to 7, ther's a slide to the side of that combo that maybe you can't see.

If you can't see the slide bar, try using the arrows on the keyboard to select the number of the soldier you want. But I'm guessing that if you can't see the whole program you won't be able to edit some of the body parts anyway so just try adjusting your resolution.

Ok you have to use the little boxs with arrows on them. See them in the picture.

If you cant see them try a different screen resoulotion.

As for the CC2 numbers check out Mafis's guide, it's got them all.

Yes you have to save into onto an old cc2.exe.

I don't have experience editing the cc2.exe with this program, so I don't know if there's somthing else you must do. One thing to notice though is that the soldier color editor works only with PATCHED exe's.

Maybe Nembo or somone else can help more.

EDIT. Ok now I understand, As Nembo says, you must open the cc2.exe that is on the game folder and edit that exe, do not create a new one.

AntonyNZ, the SoldierColorEditor has nothing to due with the base soldier sprite, it only changes the colors of the uniforms, weapons and equipment. The only way you can make your "Less Blood" mod is to edit the soldier sprites for either CC2, CC3 or CC4\CC5. There are about 1200 images to change.

@Ivan Zaitzev -

1.0 Make a copy of your CC2.exe that is installed from the 2.0b patch. (The Soldier Color Editor will not work on the CC2.exe from the disc or original, unpatched install. The tool is made to work with only the .exe from the different game patches.) Place the copy in the CC2 folder. This is your backup of the original and can be restored by renaming it to CC2.exe if anything goes wrong.

2.0 On your desktop, right click on any area that does not have an icon.
2.1 In the drop down menu, select "Properties".
2.2 In the "Display Properties" window that opens, select the "Settings" tab on the far right.
2.3 In "Settings" tab, move the slider in the "Screen Resolution" box from 800 x 600 to be 1024 x 768.
2.4 Click the "Advanced" button.
2.5 Select the radio button that says "Apply new display settings without restarting." and click "OK".
2.6 This will close the Advanced window and return you to the "Diplay Properities" window. Click the "OK" or "Apply" button. Your screen resolution will should now change. If it does not, restart Windows and the new screen resolution will be in effect.

3.0 Get closer to the screen, or like me, tilt your head back to look through the trifocal part of your glasses to see the small icons. Navigate to the soldiercoloreditor.exe and open it. You will now see the entire tool.

4.0 In the opening window, select CC2.
4.1 The tool should open the CC2.exe if your install is the default. Use the "File"\"Open" options in the menu bar to navigate to where your CC2.exe actually is.

5.0 You will see the uniform color sets that are available to change. For CC2, only the first 28 (0 - 27) are changeable. The other 28 for snow, or winter uniforms do not exist in the CC2.exe and entering color values in those will do nothing. Those sets were added and carried on starting with CC3.
5.1 The color sets are normally grouped in sets of three that coorespond to the CC2\Data\Base\teams file "Style" column. For instance, color sets 0, 1 and 2 are associated in the code with "Style" 0 where color set 0 is for all pistol and rifle soldiers, 2 for all automatic weapons (SMG, LMG, MMG) and 3 is for AT and Flamethrower armed soldiers. There are several "Styles" that are dupicates of others and use the same color sets.

You can open the CC2\Data\Base\teams file as a spreadsheet with MS Excel, MS Works, OpenOffice or any spreadsheet application for viewing or editing.

6. As you change the numbers of the parts and pieces of the colors, give your computer a moment or two to refresh the view of the sample sprites.
The colors first displayed are the default colors within the CC2.exe. The range of change you can make to the Blue, Green, and Red RGB values is minus 31 to plus 31, with 0 being the middle. (I'm not sure why Cpl Filth inverted the RGB order, but it works.)
6.1 The three "Unknown" entries are not used. Perhaps they were for parts and pieces never implemented in the code. They go nowhere and do nothing (GNDN). Leave them alone, as Cpl Filth's ReadMe suggests.

7.0 Save the changes you have made to the opened CC2.exe from the File\Save option of the menu bar.
7.1 Test it out in game. Some colors that look great in the editor tend to look lost or overly exagerated in-game. Look at them in several types of terrain.
7.2 If satified with your colors, yer done. If not, open your moddified CC2.exe in the Soldier Color Editor again and mod away.

8.0 And finally, reset your screen display resolution back to 800 x 600 in Display Properties\Settings. Not required for those with good eyes that skipped that step.

While we're discussing SoldierColorEditor, are slots 28-55 (snow-unused) editable and usable? How do I code these slots? What numbers are these slots in the style column (*teams.adb files)?
Or are these slots reserved for reg CC3&CC4...for winter equipped units...showing up in snow cammo or normal uniform depending on weather?

One more thing...I've been messing around with uniform colors for my mod...and I've noticed that the sprite animation sequence for the surrendering soldiers disappear...when they surrender the sprites just disappear...no animation of the soldiers raising their hands and walking towards their captors. Has this got anything to do with the exe file edited using SoldierColorEditor?

Maybe Drill can shed some light on this...thanks!

Squadleader, the snow color slots are used only in maps that are coded as winter and then used by units that are winter equipped, but i think that on CC5 it is disabled, don't know why.

And on the surrendering soldiers, you can not see your own surrendering troops on CC5 but your enemy can. Don't know if its the same for cc4 but im sure that on cc3 and cc2 you can see both sides surrendered troops.
