#6: Missing videos Author: Piers, Posted: Thu Aug 09, 2007 12:30 pm Unfirtunately, the videos are missing from the downloaded version so the game installs, but will not run. Do you or anyone have the videos so that I can replace them?

#7: Author: StasiuX, Location: PolandPosted: Thu Aug 09, 2007 9:12 pm You must run RegSetup.reg first.
#8: Author: Piers, Posted: Sun Aug 12, 2007 7:28 am I'm afraid it still doesn't work. I Uninstalled, cleaned up all the Temp files, ran RegSetup.reg and then reinstalled and updated to 1.0a, but the same occurs it tells me there are missing files in directory 'videos'.
#9: Author: StasiuX, Location: PolandPosted: Tue Aug 28, 2007 6:03 am First of all, You can't install patch 1.0a if You don't have oryginal CD or .iso image. Anyway, CC1 installer from above mentioned link contain patch 1.0a.
I try explain how correct install CC1 in WinXP
1. Unpack Close_Combat.zip to any folder, for example:
D:\Close_Combat_CD\
2. Than press Start -> Run -> and input this command:
(remember that, part "D:\Close_Comabt_CD" is from step 1)
3. Install game (some error may occurde, just ignore them)
4. After installation run RegSetup.reg.
5. And remember! You can't move or delete folder create in step 1.
6. Run game in Win95 compatibility with 256 colors.
Sorry for my english

#10: Author: Piers, Posted: Tue Sep 04, 2007 4:36 pm Thanks for your help. I have done exactly as you described to the letter. However, I still get the same error message:
CC Error (video open failed)
Can't find the specified file. Make sure the file name and path are correct.
I don't know what's wrong, but it does still seem that there is a video file missing. I hope you can help because I would really like to play the old game.
Thanks very much for your help.
Cheers,
Piers

Just for the record the PlayVideos key is created after the first launch of the game.
Btw it run at really high speed on my current computer (with XP/SP2).
it is only playable, at least for me, with speed set to slow.
#13: Author: jimbailey, Posted: Sat Jan 12, 2008 9:09 pm You can find a copy on Amazon, but beware -- it does not run on XP. The installation instructions posted here allow you to install it, but not play it.
