Reports from Von Paulus to Hitler between the 19 nov. to the 24 dec.

Serafimovitch 19 nov AM

The Dorobanti Reg.14/Div.7.Inf (RUM) managed to destroy a T-34 and stopped the Russians from taking the town, unfortunately nearly a whole section was killed in this meeting engagement, a Bofors mod.1936 was also destroyed in the action.

Even if the situation looks bad, the 14th regiment will counterattack this afternoon.

Von Paulus.

Raspopinskaïa 19 nov AM

The Russians tried to do a sneak attack along the frozen stream, But our sharpshooter was there and killed 3 enemies. But our major accomplishment was that our mortars destroyed 2 enemy Katushias. We lost about 15 soldiers and a AT gun.

The Dorobanti Reg.15/Diviza.6.Inf (RUM) is preparing a counterattack to repel the enemy behind the Don.

Sirki 19 nov AM

We didn't manage to hold the east of the town, and lost a section there defending it, plus we lost all our AT guns.

Even with the help of the Luftwaffe, the bat. Sforsesca/XXXV Arm.Corp won't hold for long: they need reinforcements!

Kletskaïa 19 nov AM

With the help of Ju.87-b we inflicted severe losses on them: 2 Bt-7 and one Komandny KV-1.
Our losses are: one Marder II, one PZ III H and one PZ IV F

The Russians control more gound than us but the situation is under control for now. If the Russians don't attack us with KV-1 we can even repel them on the other side of the Don with the help of our PZs.

Hi,

That's a bloody beginning of the GC.

The least I can say is that you does't seem to economise your soldier's life!

Let's hope it will remain some forces to you later in the campaign!

Cheers

Crying or Very sad My PC just broke down! I managed to copy the saves onto a USB stick, but I have no idea when we are going to be able to continue.

Ok, I will (just to make sur, I'm not NAZI, I hate them). I still have some battles to report (we did them just before the PC crashed), but I don't know if I can get back the screen shots...

Well, for the Russians it's not to bad, they are on Recrut, but I'm on Elit, so it's going to be hard, need to change tactics or I wont have enough soldiers for the counter attack that will repel Ivan on the other side of the Don!

Reports from Von Paulus to Hitler between the 19 nov. to the 24 dec.

Osinskij 19 nov AM

The battle started well and our grenadiers with the help of engineers managed to take control of the barracks before the enemies. Unfortunately they had heavy artillery support that killed a whole section and we had to retreat to the west.

Like you can see mein Führer, the Russians also managed to take the south hill. With that position, our supply lines are in danger. I am asking the permission to retreat to a better position or we might lose a crucial regiment.

Heil Hitler

Von Paulus.

Hitlers responce to Von Paulus.

Generalfeldmarschall Von Paulus, your orders are to counterattack, the Russians won't be expecting that. Once your supply lines are safe, take back the barracks and drive the Bolcheviks over the Don. Germany is watching you.

Adolf Hitler.

Ostrovski 19 nov AM

Mein Führer, The Russians have managed to establish a bridgehead before we could stop them. We tried to counterattack but their 12cm mortars pinned us down and we lost most of our men and one SDKFZ.

We might be able to hold for 24 hours, after that if we don't get reinforcements, we will have to evacuate Ostroski.

Heil Hitler.

Von Paulus.

Reports from Von Paulus to Hitler between the 19 nov. to the 24 dec.

Vertiachy 19 nov AM

Mein Führer, The Russians had depolyed a whole Panzer section composed of KV-1 and T-34/76 but fearing our packs they didn't dare advance on the frozen river. We only lost a pack 40. After more than 10 minutes of bombardment on our bunker, the Russians finally launched a heavy infantry assault, but our Sturmpioneres didn't fall and the Russians had to retreat.

Mein Führer, we just intercepted an enemy communication. They are going to attack the bunker this afternoon and try to cut off our supply with their Panzers. We are going to set up AT guns on the west bank of the river to ambush them.

Heil Hitler.

Von Paulus.

Krasnaïa Plochad 19 nov AM

Once aigain the Wehrmacht proves his superioritiy. Our grenadiers stormed the Univermag and after only 5 minutes of fierce battle the bulding was under our control with only a minimum of casualties.

I can already say, mein Führer, that Stalingrad is ours!

Heil Hitler.

Krasny Oktiabr 19 nov AM

The Russians didn't dare advance and the Bat.2/Sturmgeschutz Abtl.244 took most of the factory without shooting.

We will launch this afternoon the final assault and finally take the factory!

We were at Krasny Oktiabr.

Oberschütze Ritter recounts his fight at the Krasny Oktiabr factory.

Oberschütze Ritter in the outskirts of the Krasny Oktiabr factory.
We had been lying down for nearly 1 hour when the Oberleutnant gave the order to advance. The factory was in ruins and each noise might have been Ivan. We advanced for another 300 meters.

Ritter and his Comrades Advancing in the Factory.

Then we heard an explosion (I learned later that it was our StugIII that had got an enemy PZ), We all jumped for cover like during the exercises and waited for 1 to 2 minutes. The Oberleutnant ordered us to continue. 5 minutes after the Spähtrupps signaled that Ivan was not far away. We stopped, I deployed my MG34 and started scanning the horizon. The earth trembled, our Wurfrahmer hade just started firing. Once the bombardment was finished, our Oberleutnant shouted " LOS, LOS, LOS" I ran for another 100m and lay behind a broken wall where I deployed my MG. I saw some Russians at the south of the factory, so I turned my MG towards them and started firing...

Ritter about to fire on Ivan.

Second part in the next issu of SIGNAL.

Heil Hitler.

The Bolcheviks are really pathetic mein Führer, they bombarded their own troops.

We didn't have any casualties, with the help of our PZs we can hold here for a long time mein Führer.

Kotluban 19 nov AM

Great victory, we have not only stooped the enemy advance at Kotluban but have also destroyed 2 T34/76 and nearly an entire section. We also had some losses but nothing compared to the Russians.

We are not able to counterattack without any Panzers, but we can still hold for a long time.

Rynok 19 nov AM

The main battle was around the docks, The Russians were faster than us but they couldn’t resist our counterattack and at the end of the morning, we had the docks.

They tried to outflank us but we redeployed a section and managed to stop their advance.

Stalingrad 19 nov PM

Mein Führer, I took the initiative to retreat the Vanatori Rgt.3/1.Blindate Div. from Kletskaïa to Selivanov. The enemy Panzers won’t be able to attack through the gullies and once all their tanks are destroyed, we will counterattack and retake Kletskaïa. I am already informing you that the units in Osinki and Ostrovskij are going to fall back on Wensij and Peskovatka. But mein Führer, this is not a defeat, because with this strategic redeployment of our forces, we will be able to counterattack and finally take Stalingrad!

Heil Hitler.

I have ordered them to hold for as long as they can, and that their bravery will never be forgotten.

Hi to you, Glote,

It was not in criticisim any way! I love your campaign. I just tell you that I personaly play a little more defensively....The way is long until 24th of december!!

Anyway, I really suggest that you continue to use your Romanians as a barrier. The ones in Serafimovitch are OUT anyway. The Lascar group in Raspopinskaïa, however, can hold the terrain until it is liberated (I did it) if you can also hold Kletskaïa and, maybe, the northern Don Front.

Continue to have fun and show to the SDK fans your progression. It is very good!

Cheers

Mein Führer, the Russians have managed to take the central part of the village. The Romanians fought well but they were outnumbered. Ivan also tried to take the Lascar Bunkers but we repelled them twice.

Even if we lost some ground, the Russians won't be able to hold against a counterattack.
