If you didnt pay the 50$ to buy the COI mod, just download the regular plugin of thew mod for CC3 and the map pack and your set!

The ModSwap version brings the ease of use CoI users have enjoyed to those that also play CC4.

There is no Winter War for CC3.

For players without CoI a config. manager plugin version is available at CSO, as posted earlier.

Please try not to confuse the issue.

I do like ModSwap much better then the Cfg.Mngr.
Especially if Schrecken can do VETBoB that installs/uninstalls the maps like he did with WW.

I forget can one make custom headers for ModSwap for their favorite mods?

Yes, it's very customisable.

Just a bmp file that can be edited however you want.... just check out all the CoI Modswap plugins they all have custom headers and Dreaded88 did his own for Grossdeutschland II.

After the fiasco that was COI looks like SImtek is doing PR to release this. Notice its done for CCIV not CCV, as much as I love CCIV, it would have been much better to do CCV mods which are the most popular and most played.

Why doesnt Simtek release the exploding hedgerow fix for CCV? Maybe releaseing that and modswap for CCV would make Sitmek PR points they need badly... but then again it means less money on a rerelease of CCV.. we all knwo money talks for Simtek, and the community is second rate

release what.

This is work done by Yokongold... you goose!!!

Your right.. how would I ever think Sitmek would give something away for free when the future of CC depends on us buying whatever they throw at us.. (Re:What have you done for CC? sis boom bah!)

Glad you cleared that up.. Yukon Gold is a good man. His work on CCIV is needed.

So Simtek wont sue anyone for using the Modswap for anythign but the white elephant called COI??? Surely they coudl make a few bucks doing so?

Oh.. the expression in Canada is "SILLY goose", becuase I suppose geese are revered here. Make a damn fine meal at least....

If you had purchased CoI you would know what you are talking about.

If you have not purchased CoI........ well that's patently obvious.

ModSwap that was released with CoI can be used with CC2 through CC5.

have a nice day

Hey Sbufkle

I hate to say this cause I enjoy a good flame war just like anyone else.

But your points seem mute.

Ok so Drill made 1 bad post about COI and CCIII being compatable.
Are they or arent they I don't care.

Do I like buying a CCIV re-release?
NO

Will I?
maybe/probably/most likely.

Either let it rest or move on.

And Schrecken:
The important question here is hows the VETBoB MOdSwap comming along?
And did you use my updated Scrngdg file?.........I hope so
All it does it now show the properly repainted maps in the info panel during a GC.
Something TT had never gotten around to.

So you have never had the COI AI outflank you? Never had it outflank you to the degree that it attacks you from the rear???? I saw this many times during the testing phase of COI.

The Blood did an outstanding job on the AI in what was one very screwed up EXE.

You are the only person i see complaining about the AI. That in its' self says a lot.

Honestly never had it flank the rear on an attack. when I first started playing COI I though I found if you played the 'sit and wait game' the AI would wait as well longer than normal CC3, but as I played more I found this not true. The AI was more agressive, but made plenty of stupid moves, aggression doesnt mean better. Instead of the stupid CC3 moves it made equally new stupid COI moves!

I played with the default GC and the GWM. Maybe I know the GWM GC too well to get caught on the losing side of a battle.. but not with the COI GC.

Cleaing up the code is one thing, how the AI was modified is based on arrays ect... and of course if you paly a scenario 100 times the AI wont do the same thign each time.

ALL I AM SAYIGN IS SIMPLE. when I played the COI GC in regular patched CC3 I didnt find any difference from the COI version. Im talking about playing abouyt 12-20 hours of each version. Now you did lead the testers so perhaps thats just not enought hours to merit a fiar opinion? Or maybe it is!! To me it is... again its opinion.

As far as H2H, theres very little Simtek could sell this on to justify 50$ as a H2H stnad alone game.. on that level its only a mod. the ultimate way to play any game is H2H anyhow.. we all know that.

I back the view if the AI was better, SOME of that 50$ would be worth paying, but I dont think the AI is any better, its different, but just as easy to beat. Data in arrays and opinions, the AI isnt a person who is told "Play better now" its tinekred with and reacts differently.. and I dont think any better than CC3 AI. After a few hours, the novelty of new stupid moves is gone...
