hi,

cpt jb mac here.

i have wanted to do a mod of the battle of monte cassino for sometime now. i have read the book "monte cassino", by matthew parker. very good. i am now starting it for the 3rd time.

i have done somework, but at this rate, it could be years before a beta release.

i am putting a team togeather to create this mod.

what the team needs is as follows:
.historical data researchers
.mapping "artists" (map makers)
.2d graphical artists
.sound fx technicians

i will be doing most of the data coding(abd files, not the maps), among other things.

reply to this topic if your are interested in being a part of this mods developement. please include which position you wish to be involved with, and any experience or skills you have.

thank you sincerely, cpt jb mac (team monte cassino)

Just please, don't let L4W do the data. Get Dima, or someone else professional.

Thanks and good luck.

Mac, there was a Polish team working on a CCV Monte Cassino mod. When I inquired last fall, they were still working on it after a hard-drive crash had set the project back. The Polish wargaming forum and the webpage they had set up for the mod have been offline for quite some time now which doesn't bode well though. The screen graphics were beautifully done. You could maybe send StasiuX a PM to see if he can put you in touch with the team.

cheers

I just hope either this new one or the ones worked on by the Polish team will be seen through to completion.
Good luck and keep us updated!

thx for the info Yukongold. i want to see happen as well mates.

jb mac

ps...at the moment i am alone on this. volunteers welcome. the main things needed are historical researchers and mappers. sounds are mostly complete. much of the adb files are complete, except for forcepools/BGs. also a stratmapper would be nice.

The link to some info about the CC4 Monte Cassino mod:
http://www.closecombat.org/forums/showthread.php?t=9927

It looks like the other links to forum and website do not work. It is possible contact can be made with those that posted in the above thread.

See this for listing of British, Commonweath and Polish units connected with the 4 battles of Cassino
http://www.veterans-uk.info/pdfs/publications/comm_booklets/monte_cassino.pdf

Note that these would not have fought at all of the battles, as the attacking formations were changed between battles.

Cheers

Hello there!

I'am boobazzz and I'am one of the Polish MC mod team members, mainly did historical and data research (original maps, photos and so on). For the last four or so years we've been trying to make a mod on Monte Cassino, or rather the Fourth Battle, no success though due to subsequent server crashes and the team splitting all over the world.

Recently we have our HQ forums back, but to be honest the mod does not seem to revive once again, (though we'll see in the nearest future)

Anyways, you can take a look what we've done till the date (+/-) here:

http://psff.eufi.org/viewforum.php?f=45

the forum (or rather subforum) has english speakers designated topic, feel free to ask questions there if u like, I browse it pretty often.

Originally it was designed for the CC IV, we had most of the 2D grapics (except icons) done, some sounds (polish voices), few maps. If we finally decide to discontinue it, I'll try to convince the team to grand a free access to the material we have to be used for anyone willing to continue the theme - one of the most interesting ones during the WW II IMHO. I hope I'll be able to get the final declaration on it soon.

best regards,
b

edit: yo Uruk, I did not notice your post. Anyways, I keep mine unchanged as still we have to decide what to do.

A bit off topic: if you find a link not working anymore, try searching in the internet archive wayback machine, essentially an archive of the internet.

Hi, yes it was a CCIV mod, I think the forum is working again, I am sure you'll find loads of useful data. This mode however was focused on the Polish attack, it was I think the 3rd attempt (correct me if I am wrong) I helped them just a little bit by researching the Polish OOB (units, organization schemes, amount of equipment) Let me know if you'd like to see it.
