Greetings to all fellow Vista strugglers.

I too was trying to get CC5 working with networks on Vista. I had tried most of the solutions listed on this forum but to no avail. For those who are willing to try more drastic options, I have two suggestion.

Option 1: Partition hard drive and install another boot version of XP or something older

Options 2: Same effect but much easier technically. Download a copy of Virtual PC from Microsoft. It's a free software that can be used to run other operating systems in a virtual way within a window on Vista. No reboots and seems robust so far. It's fairly easy to figure out from the free technical help. One catch is that you need an installation disk of some older version of Windows. Buying one might be too expensive, but if you have a older XP, Win 2000, Win 98, Win 95 version lying around from a previous computer purchase you can use Virtual PC to install and run the software without messing with your Vista boot system. Launch and networking seem to work fine.

One follow-up on the virtual PC option. It allows you to allocate how much memory you want for the virtual operating system. I think this has helped me with the scroll speed problem that others have mentioned when running CC5 on newer/faster machines. When I run the game in Vista (non-networking) it scrolls too fast. Run on XP in virtual PC and the slow scroll speed is manageable.
