I recently managed to get hold of a copy of this game (finally, after trying to find it for simply ages)
I purchased the game at a local online auction here in NZ, 2nd hand (used)

It is badged under the name *BigBytes* from 'Red Ant Enterprises' in Australia, which doesn't seem to have any tech support as the game is now 9 yrs old.

THE PROBLEM:- in order to unlock the Strategic level of gameplay, one has to register and receive a registration key, which then unlocks the most important feature of the game!! I am dumbfounded that this is the way they made a buyer register when the game was 1st released.

Unfortunately registering is not possible, due to the disc not even giving me an internet connection!! And with no tech support, you can imagine I'M AS MAD AS HELL lolz.

Has anyone been in this situation , and is it possible that this much needed CODE for the strategic map to unlock and become playable, may be within the community here??

MANY MANY thanx in advance, to anyone who is able to help me.

I have a RedAnt copy.

The only thing that gets unlocked is a jpg image of the strat map... nothing important as it is a crap image.

But here it is below.

Hi - and tyvm for your prompt reply.

Can you explain to me, if your strategic level gameplay works? My strategic map within the game, simply refuses to allow me to move any forces forward in-game. the result: I end up playing the same maps over and over again at the edge of the strategic map ( I'm playing as the Weirmacht, and as a consequence of the strategic map not allowing me to advance, the battle of the bulge never takes off ! )

is your strategic level of play fully functioning in-game, with your red ant version?

cheers

Have you managed to "take" the exit VL's so you can advance to the west?

You can't advance until you succeed in taking ground.

Mine works Smile

ok, thanks for this info:- I thought I HAD taken all the VLs including exit VLs, as I have the game set up for 'After taking all victory locations' ( NO 2 minute warning)

I'll double check this and take it from there: cheers for your info.

ok - everything is fine *phew* seems I have a mouse problem, not sure why it was happening - very wierd. as much as i tried to click once and drag my battle groups across the map, my mouse was constantly interfering...it's been double clicking all day, even when i press the left hand button only once. very strange. anyway...map is fully functional after a re-install - AWESOME ...the Allies flee before my panzers Wink

Sounds like you need a need a new mouse, their Fenris. That or you need to change the batteries. Wink

CCIV would be a hell of alot better if you could add and remove units, selecting from a force pool.

next you'll ask for bigger maps and hedgerows.

Not true, everything else is fine, the size of the maps are just right. Being able to customize your company's squads/crew's, gives the game more longevity.

By the way Fenris, on the first turn you cannot move. You are forced into battle from the unexpected attack from the Germans, which caught the Americans off guard.
