I sure hope they will fix the vehicle pathing before the game is relesed or else it will be an disaster, or else it was the elements in the map who screwed things up...

I had to use 10 minutes of gametime to move two Tiger II across the bridges!!! Mad Mad Mad

Hey Mats, vare med eller utan Norrlands Guld Smile haha

Have u tried several bridges in diff battles/maps?

And I also see another thing in the image here, that they OUGHT to fix, The Tiger has a 5 men crew, not a 4 men crew as seen in this WaR image here..

Nej faktiskt utan Norrlands... Smile

Actually i have seen a lot of bad things and i really hope that all these things will be fixed before release!

I cant notice anything that adjust the gameplay in Wacht am Rhein compared to the old CC4 except for working in Win XP of course. I have seen problems with Vehicle pathing on severeal maps, not just bridges and getting real bored of hearing "cant go there!"

Mortars take out your guns, maybe not on the first shoot but on the second Mad like old CC.

When you have given a unit a move command and they get fired on they will lose your command and stop where they are, not moving anywhere. You must sheck your units all the time during the battle. Havent seen these in CC before and i dont like it!

When i buy this final product i will start at once changing all the boring sounds and the trees!! Have you ever seen grey barren trees during winter, they are always green even if it is -30 C!!! :mad1

Sorry for all the negative things but i have been looking forward to this game with great expectation.

Cheers Mats

IIRC CCIV had 4men crew for KT Wink.

it wasn't that cold in Ardennes that time, and there was not much snow.....mud, mud, mud and rain/wet snow.

Try with a Panther instead. The Tiger II is to wide for many bridges.

Sorry Dima but all the area between Bastogne and Houffalize as under total
snow. At houffalize you are close of the upper point of Belgium,
La barraque Fraiture. You always got snow there from the begining of
December to the end of January. But you are right it was never close to -30°C.
But well tree dont keep green when -18°C is sitting for some months.

@ Sapa : Are you one of the tester? If yes, does they listening you?
As if yes, all will maybe corrected.

there was snow, but then the temperature got higher in Dec 1944 and snow started to melt.
it was dirty mud all over the area (west of St.Vith) and v wet snow/rain.

The Original CCIV works perfectly fine on Windows XP!. Confused

I belive TT repainted many original CC4 maps, to have that historical* mud and such... He did a good job with em old CC4 maps. Respect to TT!

About barren tree, yeh, hm I would agree with sapa here, but its a beta, maybe it fixed to final?

And about WaR King Tigers 4 men crew wich in realety shall be 5 men, I belive your right old-CC4 v 1.0 had that error to, but dint they fix that to later ver?

It would be nice to see flowing water, for once. Rolling Eyes Water looks like concrete.

What a pitty. It was cool to get some more news than what is officially released. Some news just make my day better. But i see them as some
detail facing what CC4 needed to see fixed.

Anyway, team who hidden their work just :

Creating total new things and wanted to keep it as Total surprise.

OR

Remaking older stuff, without taste, salt and pepper.

Been a long time since I last played CCIV but I think if you right click on a tree to see the terrain type it will say something like «big conifer tree» so they should keep their leaves even at -30 (or -50 here in Canada Wink )

I also remember some trees had no leaves and they were simply called «tree»

Edit: And if you look carefully at the shadows on the screenshot, they clearly have a conifer like shape. I'm suprised a swede doesn't know about this. What a disgrace to us «northerners» Razz

"Barr-träd" Haha, "barren-tree", we confuse it, barr-träd as it is the word for "conifer-tree", the type that dont dropp its "leafs".. Everyone know Swedish will be the world language in the future, so get use to it.. Haha

Actually, the first real snow accumulations in the area of the Ardennes battle didn't begin until around the 19th and 20th of Dec...and it got colder from there until mid January

It has been learned that vehicle pathing has more to do with map coding than anything else.

My old CC4 works fine with WinXP...and there's always the CC Starter utility for troublesome systems.

The "stop moving when fired upon" was introduced to the 'revamped' CC engine on CoI (I guess you didn't bother to try CoI, Mats...I don't blame you...hehehe). This really stupid and annoying 'enhancement' also appears on CCMT.
I guess the designers of these new rereleased version love micromanaging troops and vehicles Wink
Maybe babysitting troops all the time and herding them with mouse clicks is fun to you...but the old AI engine works better and smoother Very Happy

Zapp, you don't have to be a beta tester to get hold of a beta copy of WaR...oops is this still classified info Wink
