ok seems to that the blt directdraw error happens with most of the maps

is it my elements file or the blt file itself

Note
installed cc5 fresh
installed 501 patch
I installed\unzipped maps to maps folder from the full maps zip
I copied the video folder off the CD to the cc5 root
I installed the plugin

should also be noted that I downloaded the individual map for the gold beach and unzipped it into maps to see if that would help. it did not

When you uninstalled CC did you uninstall the patch also? The patch for cc5 is a program, and must be uninstalled as well every time you uninstall cc5,useing your Add/Remove program,if you dont the patch will not reinstall properly...but i dont think this is what your problem is,judging what you posted, just thought id add this in case you didnt know...any error to do with maps..IE:BLT or the other 6 named files..most times means you have a map issue or coruption if yu will.Try deleting all your maps in your root map folder...copy from disk the original maps back to your root map folder(this will bring you back to original game) then add the 4.4 maps pack.

Side note: when you uninstalled everything, and then reinstalled...did you copy or create a new Video folder to your Root cc5 folder? this needs to be done every time you uninstall the game or GJS wont work.

I encountered a similar problem. I uninstalled 4.3 (which I neglected to do on my first test run with 4.4), then again copied all the 4.4 maps to the map folder. Seems to have done the trick.

I was having the same problem. The only thing that works for me is disabling Direct3D in the DirectX options. You can read a good explanation of what it all means and how to do it here: http://www.closecombat.org/forums/showthread.php?t=7557&highlight=direct+draw+error

Hi guys.

There is no need to turn of directdraw! Plus, when you turn of direct draw acceleration in dxdiag, the game still slows down after a while and then crashes with the same error (my experience)

I have a P4 3.2 GHZ with a geforce 6600 256 mb (directx 9.0c) By the way.

What seems to do the trick for me is to simply run the game in compatebility mode!
Windows 98/ME mode did the trick for me!

Hope this helps...
