End of Day 3 of Grand Campaign. Morale off, 15mins, German Elite vs American Recruit.

My strategy is to smash the lines and win by disband before 15 minutes is up. Most battles end in total defeat.

I think there are too many depots for the GC. American and German. You end up having to leave units all over the Northern edge of the map to meet the new American units arriving. They may very well of arrived there in the actual battle way back when but I think it makes the GC more complicated for no reason. A better GC IMO would have a couple of American depots on the South West edge and German depots in the North East edge. The battles would culminate around the center and there would be more opportunities to cut off BGs. All the impassible borders should be fixed to. Many can be fixed just by reshaping some of the maps so they dont have extra borders that go nowhere.

I agree, there are too depots. Fortunately game let us edit the GC and we can make one new.

So hows this GC going?
Is this just the Campaign or the 25 day GC?
In another thread you mentioned that your trying to complete the GC in record time.

Have you reached a point where the Allies should be on the offensive?
If so is the AI doing that?
In my GC (as Allies) I don't really see where the AI is trying to smash through im on day 7
In most cases the AI has an overwhelming force and doesnt make use of it.Some battles have actually had 1 maybe 2 kills.
Next time I get to the Debrief screen I'll take a screen shot.

Its a very frustrating GC because of how the stratmap is layed out. You have to advance South but leave units all over the North West US Depots. Combined with the zoomed in view and missing connections it turns into a maze. Its ongoing (sorta forgot I started this thread) and I am kicking the AI's ass obviously. Will post an update...

Hello Mooxe
I am quite interested to see how your GC is going !!...

Despite many severe comments I am seeing here about this so-called girlie behaviour and some coding errors I am still very happy with this game. Of course when you know the game by heart you tend to focus on the low points but well ... lets not spit on a game which have brought us so much fun.

For my part I am at day 9 and it has recently (since 3 days) got much more interesting:

- Agressiveness of the AI is incomparable vs the first days. Even if its attacks are not very subtle, I now can see combined tanks/inf attacks. And it tends to attack MASSIVELY in precise points of the maps to seek for a breakthrough, a feature I had never seen in other mods such as GJS, Meuse and Stalingrad.

- Attrition of my VG and FJ units in the center is a growing concern. They have led the way to the west and now find itself counterattacked by AB and tank units, with few remaining commanders and AT capabilities.

- SS troops on the North and Pz Lehr/ 2nd Pz in the South have now many veterans but air/artillery support is taking its toll day after day making me wonder what will be of them after day 15 !

Anyway very fun to play. I must say I was a bit disapointed after day 2-3 but now its a great pleasure to kick the ass of the most valuable AI I have seen for ages (havent tried SDK: DK yet)

I hav edited the GC to have 5 minute games. Its much more interesting as I dont have to wait 10mins or more for a stalemate to end. Every game is now just action and no waiting around or jockeying positions.

Day 8 Turn 1.

Playing as Germans.

5 Minute games, morale off.

I am not disbanding units at the supply depots. I have them surrounded in a small area and just destroy without taking the VL. I am also leapfrogging enemy units as soon as I get thier exit VL. There are still a few mismatched battlegroups but shall be solved soon.
