Hello im Steve (16) and just became a member of this place because i just have gotten a renewed intrest in one of my favorite games from long ago. The main reason reason I have a renewed interest is because my friends and I been planneing on haveing a LAN party for a while but have never found a game that each of our computers could run ( some of us have more money than others) I thought about Close combat when i came across its review at gamespot.com and thought it was a simple enough game for beginners, a non graphically demanding game, and not to mention very fun. I lost my CD years ago but still remember the game like yesterday. I just got a copy of it off of amazon. So with a simple introduction I have a few questions.

1. Is there a cd key for this game?

2. Has anyone burned copys of it using Nero or anything similar? (is it possible?) i dont want anyone to get all legal on me, but we just want to have fun as at a LAN party and i dont plan on selling it.

Thanks for reading and respond soon if you have any thoughts.

1. no

2. possible but not allowed. the original game can be bought on ebay for little money, so given the price of the raw CD you might consider adding 1$ to your expenses and get the game before it disappears from the market.

Welcome to the site. All original copies are available on torrent sites. Once you get them use the mod install guides here, I reccomend Utah and GJS to start.

Utah and GJS don't work on CC4.

Please don't encourage piracy of intellectual property.

Original games come in a box not from torrent sites.

This kinda reminds me of a movie I saw a long time ago, and I just cant remember its name.

But in the movie, the media pirates, boarded some ship (18th century?), and then fought their way to the captains quarters where there was a chest of pirate booty.

Anyway, they blew off the lock on the chest with a flintlock pistol, only to discover, the chest contained beta format video cassettes, which of course, were not compatible with anyones system.

Idea

I think they install spy ware as a standard setup routine.

An "ISO" file is an image of a CD. You burn it on to a blank CD-R with burning software like "Nero" or "EZ CD Creator". Read the programs "help" file for more info.

Idea Just buy a copy of the game you want from an "eBay store", for cheap!. You won't have to worry about viruses, & other unwanted stuff.

That would be the "self destuct" time bomb built into the pirated code.

Check for any missing personal files and bank passwords as well.

It starting to look like when you blew open the chest, you got beta format cassettes instead of VHS, please keep us posted.

It happens, pirated or not. I have had the same thing happen to me. There is no cure. Your game is lost.
