1) VC had reduced RoF in comparison to 75mm Shermans.
2) Similar shell size doesn't mean similar shell weight.

Well I wondered what would be the cause of the slow RoF and how it was «fixed» in the Tiger II according to you so I suspected it was in the turret interior layout.  

I guess the answer is in the heavier 88mm shell then.
