Just wondering if I am right on this. I bought the game a few weeks ago and while playing I have noticed something.

IT feels to me the Panzer IV has a weaker gun then the Stug. And the armor is a lot weaker. But if my memory is right they had the same gun and the stug's armor was not much thicker. The IV had about same armor as the sherman right?

My IV blow up when the allies look at them hard.

you are right, they did have same gun with different mounts. As for armor, StuGIII frontal was 80mm (for both hull and superstructure) while PzIVH had 80mm frontal hull but 50mm frontal turret. And if 75mm AP shell (Sherman/Cromwell/Churchill) had hard time penetrating 80mm at ranges more than 150-200m it could easily perforate 50mm at any range sported in CC Smile.

Shermans generally had thicker armor but PzIV armor was of better quality.

On the gun issue is it just me or all the panzer IV shots bounce off the sherman? I have not seen a panzer IV kill a sherman yet, the stug will normally punch thru in 1st or 2nd shot.

I had forgot to count the turret armor so I understand why they blow up faster then the Stug.

Thanks for the info
