Batlle of Tarawa is a Pockect Mod (4 Maps) developed by Dak Legion and me.

It will be cover the Three Days battle at Betio Island in Tarawa Atoll.

The maps are some maps (Red Beach 1, Red Beach 2, Red Beach 3 and AT Ditch done).

There is a lot of work to do yet so any help is needed (Anyone interested send me a PM please).

We hope you will like it because it´s an interesting battle.

the idea of this mod is Ifni

I just mount the graphics, maps and a new strategic map

are still many things to do, work hard with the data

This mod has long been stagnant, we have a security plug-in but lost all strategical map data when my computer exploded

I think it's great experts as necessary to Sapa are present in this project would be a pleasure and a great help to us.

Sapa has been working on new maps long ago

Mafi Thanks for the contribution of his Takarongo Point map

In the opening credits and is the great Manoi!

I do not think I can contribute anything new to this mod, I'm pretty busy in my life besides my knowledge and everyone knows are quite modest

I hope this project is still going ahead. It looked almost finished. The pacific war theater is very interesting and we definitely need more mods there.

This battle has always fascinated me. Please please please tell me it will be completed.

IFNI has disappeared and I think this project has definitely dead

Hahahaaaa.... thanks for the vote of confidence, guys! But, you would know, I JUST LAST WEEK returned to work after being un-employed for 1 year and 3 months. I've been making some minor screen updates and massaging the data from that copied over from Okinawa. I need to go out on the weekends and find some research materials!!!

I was watching a DVD in my collection "Snipers the story of the sniping war during wwII" It describes Tarawa specifically and mentioned that the US used assault engineers and snipers up front offensively. Marines were issued with the upgraded springfield a1 with 8x scope the finest sniper rifle of ww2. Scout Sniper title was held by the Marines who made the cut. Marine Snipers were pinned down for hours by Japanese Snipers.

One of the most famous of the Scout Snipers was an officer named Hawkins aka Hawk. Here is his story. Hawkins Scout Sniper MOH recipiant

DAK, I do need help to integrate the new maps into the stat layer.... I don't know how. What I have for now is the strat map with only the four original maps, working with operations.

thanks but they were done 5 or 6 years ago and I feel they could be better (in realism and graphics). I'm busy with the real life and with "The Angriff" now but Tarawa has always been one of my favourite battle. Which vehicles graphics do you use?

Overall my mod editing has slowed. I'm really not much more than a "tweaker". :)

Seeing that DAK_Legion is moving Tarawa towards a TLD version.... I might have to secure (purchase) a copy of that game!

Congrats to all on their continued advancement of CC mods!! It is still a hoot to play, research and mod these historic battles. Thanks to you all for your efforts and your art in modding!
