I am running into two issues here...  But a little history to bring you up to date.

Installed game
Patched
Played
Installed Mod Config Software
Modded
Played
Uninstalled the mods and installed another
Says "too many weapons loaded" and exits to desktop
                   or
Goes to load map (after selecting units screen) and drops to desktop w/o a message...

So i unstalled the Patch
Rebooted
Uninstalled the game
Rebooted
Reinstalled the game
Tried to play and got same issues with the fresh install...

WTF!

Please Help...

How do i get a totally fresh install?  I am totally lost as to why this is happening.

Uninstall the game
Delete the Close Combat folder thats left behind
Delete your Config Manager folder

Now your harddrive should be clear of all files, reinstall. Let me know.

I have... Multiple times...

I was so confused as to why this is still happening I double checked... triple checked... and it still happened...

I even went into the registry to delete all references there as well.

Any other suggestions?

Have you tried going back to a restore point before the original install and starting again?

i have never used the restore before.  What does that do to documents you have saved and downloaded?

I suggest you back up your entire CC5 contents to another location, after the full installation + patch v5.01a and settings applied. Prior to installing a mod which changes several key files. This is to save you some trouble in the long run if a mod installation fails.

Suggested backup directory - C:\Temp\Backup\Games\Close Combat 5\

If something goes wrong, just delete your CC5 directory and copy over the backed up files in it's place. If you want to same hard disk space, compress your maps folder.

Delete your CC5 games directory after uninstalling.  Example: "C:\Games\Close Combat 5"
Delete your 'Configuration Manager' directory.  Example: "C:\CC Tools\CC5\Config Manager v1.3"

I NEED HELP! HOW CAN I MANUALLY UNINSTALL CC5?

I'm not sure if Vista acts the same as Vista 64 but sometimes Vista 64 tries to protect original files by writing copies or new files to the logged in users directory. Check to see if this directory exists and delete it;

C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\[CC5 directory name]

Well... I reinstalled it again and I don't know what i did differently this time but its working again.  I am ready to start modding but i dont want to make the same error again...

So before I start modding again, i have a few questions...  I have the following mods i am eager to try out:
  Afrika
  Ardennes
  Stalingrad

Looking at Afrika, I put the plugin file in the plugin folder for the config program (which i run as administrator) and I mod the game.  How do I go about the map files?  Do i put them in the plugin folder also?  Add them to the maps folder before i mod? After i mod?

For Ardennes, is there a specific order that i need to install the 5 plugin files?

*****EDIT*****

Back to square one... I was able to get into the game and play a map on the unmodded patched game.  I quit, reloaded the game, and now it wont work again.  The game will load and i can select a map or change my units, but when I go to play the selected map it kicks me out of the game

*****EDIT EDIT*****

Holy cow... If i run the game as an administrator the game works fine.  If i load the game by just double clicking on the executable file it will kick me out.  So i got the game working properly FINALLY and it is repeatable.  Yay me... Back to the modding question above...
