I had an old Config manager (same one as the current download) that I've copied from computer to computer. I recently reinstalled CC3 and patched it on my new computer.

The old config manager had several plugins (RR, Frontline, GCUpdate, Pzjaeger2, etc) and the old manager held them as options to plugin. The plugins were located in a System file under "Packages."

However, none of the plugins appeared to actually do anything.

I downloaded from your site the Config manager again (same version I already have) and unzipped it. I copied over the files I have into the Plugins folder and the System/Packages folder but none of them show up in the Config manager.

I run an XP64 system.

Does this manager work on this system? If so, why aren't my mods showing up in the manager?

Thanks in advance for your help.

This can. if at all, only work if you uninstalled all mods with the plugin manager prior to coyping its folder to a new pc. Otherwise the manager could think that a mod is still installed, mixing up your files uncontrollably.

Sounds like you should completely start over. Delete the Config Manager folder entirely and reinstall it, along with the mods. Also verify with us where your CC3 is installed on your 64bit system, copy and paste the folder to the forums.

I have 2 solid state drives and a raptor. Windows is on one of the solid states, C. Close Combat is on my raptor, F.

F:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Close Combat III

My patches folder is on my raptor, F.

F:\My Documents\Patches\CC3Config

I will uninstall the entire config folder and delete everything associated with it, although I will save the zipped mods in a separate folder for reinstallation later.

Should I also uninstall and reinstall CC3?

Proceeding with the Config folder now.

These two snippets from your post might be the key to the problem.  I do not know if the 64-bit XP has the same registry structure as the 32-bit, but if it does not, then the Configuration Managers can not find your CC installation folders.  They are hard coded to look in specific registry folders and if they cannot find them, they will do nothing.

Use this guide I did a few years ago to check your registry - http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=81
If your registry matches, then the problem lies elsewhere.  If you don't have the same registry folders and keys, you will need to create those.  Do make a backup of your registry before doing any editing to it.

If your registry is different than what shows in the guide, you can make new keys specifically for your Configuration Managers that should not interfere with the CC games.  The only key you need to create is the InstalledTo string value.

Excellent, thanks for all the responses.

GS_Schimpf was correct -  my copied config had mods installed and the deletion of that file with the unzipping of the mods into a new config install as Mooxe suggested has done the trick.

Smile

Fortunately there have been enough modifications to XP64 since release that it mimics 32 very well, so I haven't had to alter registries.
