Close Combat 3: Commando War Faq

What is a commando?
Commandos usually have body armor, higher rank, and better morale
than standard troops. Commandos are equipped with enhanced weapons
that are lighter, more lethal, have a longer range, more accurate,
and have more ammo. Commandos are rarer than standard troops.

Where are the FJ troops for the Germans?
All FJ troops for the Germans have been replaced. The German commandos
are listed as being "KD" troops and have the solid green uniforms
of the FJ infantry.

What gives with icons for the Gds AB troops?
All Gds AB troops for the Russians have been issued standard uniforms
and icons. The Russian commandos are listed as being "Cds" troops
and have the lighter brown uniforms of the Gds AB infantry.

Are command commandos different than other commandos?
Yes, they all have 1 commander and all the rest leaders in their unit
and are the most elite commandos.

With the enhanced and secret weapons, won't infantry die like flies?
The elements file has been enhanced and surpasses all other mods as far
infantry protection and cover.

What are the weapons specs based on?
The majority of standard issue weapons are based on the Real Red mod.

Do I need to give the Russians more points later in the war to
balance gameplay for multiplayer?
Commando War is much more than just commandos. Armor has been balanced
for both sides. A German King Tiger will no longer run the map during
the late war period. The King Tiger II was developed to counter the JSIII.
Soviet artillery guns have been upgraded to tank destroyers etc. Tanks are
generally rarer than the original Atomic game.

Why did you develop Commando War?
I wanted to play against a tougher AI and have balanced multi-player games.

Does this replace other mods?
No, Commando War is intended to be an ADDITION to all the other fine mods out
there. It is not intended to be a "historical" mod as well. Weapons and tanks
appear earlier in Commando War. Bazookas and Panzerschrecks appear in '42 etc.
JSIII's and King Tiger II's appear in 1944. All weapons are developed by 1944.
This lets there be more use to these weapons than just the final season of
the war.
