In CC3 oddly, or at least on my part, you can't have dark LOS or LOF, you always target with bright green line, trees block LOS they do not hinder it to a target, just to another obstacle. I don't know how that really affects gaming and I don't remember anyone complaining but still seems pretty strange that this is the only version where I have yet to see a targeting dark green line.
Does COI fix this?

Yup. Light green to first tree, dark green, then brown
