im wondering if windows 7 has anything to cause this?
i open the file, and all that pops up for a second or two is ' setuo initializing' and then it closes. anyone willin to help out?

Are we talking about cc2?
Is it a legit version? Or an ISO? Is this your own pc?
What you can try is after loading your cd, through an iso mounter or by physicly entering the disc in the tray, go to the corresponding drive.
Click right mouse and go to explore. Then go to setup and right click it to go to properties and run in a combatibility mode like windows 98.
