I was not around when all this Close Combat: Marines and Road to Baghdad business came out. I read the article about requesting a back issue of the Marine Corps Gazette for the Close Combat: Marines, but I still can not find out where I can get Road to Baghdad. If anyone could give me any guidence on where to find either I would appriecate it.

Cant answer for The Marines but the Road to Baghdad isnt worth the money or the effort to get.You can download any mod on this page and i can promise you it is better.

There is only two positive things with the RtB, the big sized maps and the opportunity to load and unload some of the vehicles...

Hi!

By the way you can't get the Sept 2004 issue of the Marine Corps Gazette anymore. They have no more. The best part is I was on Camp Pendilton, CA Sep 2004, but I left on the 6th.

I suggest you to download it as an image using eDonkey. I admit it is not a very orthodox Twisted Evil manner to get it, but it's an option (free from any headache Very Happy).

Am I correct in looking at CC Modern Tactics as kind of a 2nd try at making a Commercial release of CC Marines?

CCMT is a commercial release and improvement on CCMarines5

You can play as either side, army or OpFor (RTB you could only play marines)

You have a much wider choice of teams etc US ARMY, USMC, British, Soviet equipped etc

I have RtB.  It is not worth the money I paid for it.  It is a bastard red-headed step-child of CCM v3.0 that was stripped of much functionality that compounded many of the bugs already prevelent in v3.0.  The USMC Gazette version of CCM is v3.1 that is still bug ridden, but is far and away better than what RtB is based on.  I know this, because I worked on v3.1's test team.  I would not give RtB to anyone that has any respect for the CC series.

I wil not support any torrent of RtB.  It is that bad.  It is not CC.  It has a bad production history and it shows in the work.  It is crap that I would not wish on my worst enemy.

I will support any porting of RtB maps, data and (mostly worthless) graphics to CCMT by a modding team for files, but will not do any more production work other than the Data Workbook and the Revised QClone for RtB & CCM v3.1 thatI have done and are already posted in the Downloads here.

You really, really, really don't want to waste your time and assests on RtB.

Searching patches and others files for CCMT, I found RtB on "My abandonware"  (a site for all abandonware games)

I post the link here :
https://www.myabandonware.com/game/the-road-to-baghdad-il1

Game + manuel

If it is not allowed, sorry and please erase it.

This old game seems not so bad as lot of players said in the past, but in my opinion, it is very inferior in comparizon with CCMT

EDIT : Maps of RtB seem to work with CCMT without any modification
