Hi all!
This is my first post here. What I'm trying to do is to mod snipers in the game to make them have better accuracy and longer range just to make them more deadly. Question is how can I do that? Do I need to use some tool/software or something?

In folder DATA\BASE\ i found this file "Weapons.txt" an opened it with notepad, in there I found a line:

I presume that I need to edit some of this numbers but I have no idea what is what here.

Any help would be great.

The idea of the updated versions WAR, TLD and LSA is that you only need one tool, MS Excell Wink

That is why my mod making is over because im used to at least five tools.....

exel is what you need as Sapa says

There is no workbook available for LSA yet.

But

You can download the tLD workbook from here    http://closecombat.matrixgames.com/LongestDay/tLDmods.html


that will give you an idea of how the weapons data file works.

using the workbook as a guide you can alter all the data in the game.... you have a lifetimes joy ahead of you.

BTW

Make sure you keep backups of the files you are about to alter.

You can quite easily make your game unplayable.

I already made some changes, better accuracy and longer range for snipers, lower weight for BAR soldiers and few other changes, so far so good. I'm getting the hang of it. Cool

Has anyone figured out which base file rows should not be altered because of hard coding issues?

I know that there are general instructions not to mess with grenades, artillery and flamethrowers. What I seek is: do not change rows x, y and z, with specific numbers given for each file.

... cos if it wasn't for this, you could start with a clean sheet!
