I've just installed the new patch. An easy process from Matrix games except for the serial nag. Luckilly the game writes the serial into a text file in the game directory. Thank You, as I no longer have CD's with the number scribbled on them in texta!
It looks the same but seeems slower it took a long time at the "Loading Map Graphics" step.

I'm playing the Eindhoven campaign for a test as allies.
Unfortunately I ALT-TABBED out of the game to do this post and I cant get back in!
Restarted the game and played the first map - the one that always has the Stug.

The pathing looks good, I dont remember which patch I last played so the improvements may have already been installed. Like many players here I patched repeatedly with the Beta updates so this new patch might not be a huge difference.

Next map is Best

I trade the bazooka for a rifle/MG team as the Germans have no armour just guns too far away for a zook team to hit.
ALT-TAB function works fine now so maybe it was just a one-off glitch before.

I did NOT like the tree elements in the original, there was not eneough cover in the elements file. This is a good map to test that. ALso a 2 cm Flak was located in the NE of the map  - my mortar was useless firing at it, this is another often made complaint esp by Steiner at Matrix. This is a tough one to guage scientifically as it is open to variability and subjectivity. (Big words EH?)

There was an 88 in the tree line in the centre of the map , I asaulted it but they blew the bridge before I could finish.

Son Bridge

Once again ther a 2 88's

I didnt take this bridge - it was blownup again.

In the original I remember fighting many battles on this bridge and capturing it. This time it blew in my face! I felt like a porn star on the bad end of the money shot!

The question is - if the enemy BO is worn down is it less likely to blow the bridge? - or should I rush harder?

ST Odenrode

I captured this bridge with a run down the corridor North Melbourne style  Wink

There are still some teams which dont follow orders, but as I am an old CC5 style player I do believe it's just me who needs to change my expectations of what a soldier will do. - ie: no more crawl of death.

The true test of the vehicle pathing is the Valksenwaard map - it is a long drive with numerous vehicles of different speeds, and my verdict is good, it is better than any other CC version I've tried yet.

Next test - CC4 WAR patch.

Rushing bridges is the only way, but even some have the timer set to zero, presumably this changes with difficulty. It always best to attempt bridge taking on the first move because if they are going to blow you are better off getting that over and done with and move on to rebuilding.

Be lost in CC's is really easy. CC4, CC5, Theirs Mods, Coi and the rest of Rerealeased.

A good initiative for dive in the new Patch.

IMHO, the pathfinding of the vehicles is the most important of the corrections and the infants now move better, above all in Move Fast order. In Move order they move a little worse.

The Patch is fine for me but i'm looking for bugs too.

If i see i'll report.

i find the best way is use maybe a third of my troops to lay suppressing fire, then "the run of death" is a tad less arduous.  The other way is I group all attacking units and keep clicking the purple dot to keep them motivated.

Hey Stumpy

LSA is worth buying, to me it's the best of the re-releases and the most original (compared to CC2). The bridge maps are tough and sometimes anoying, but I suppose they were to Monty too.

I like the variety the map bridges give, my biggest complaint about TLD is the repeating "capture the map" turns.

It also adds some variability to the campaign at the start.

I do not see because there is a problem because by default the game has a automatic upgrade.

And where can I download this "DR-v560", because I only see "5.60.51" in the LSA downloads section.
I can't access Matrixgames right now to check it out.
