Hi,
I had to reformat my hard drive C and re installed Win7 Professional 64 bit. Now I can't get the damn thing to install getting error code #5.
I corrected by right clicking exe and config to run file as administrator. No Luck. Is there a special procedure to follow when installing Mods
with Win7 64 bit?

Plan B*  is to rename the Meuse_v34_Full.pln as Meuse_v34_Full.zip, extract the mod files from that archive and install them manually.

* assuming a modicum of file mgt skill

Hi Thumb,

Tried your suggestion but it didn't work. When I tried to install Meuse v34 Full from config manager I got (keep getting) the following error message box.

"CfgV13
!
Failed to copy C:\Program Files\SSI\Close Combat Invasion Normandy\CC5.exe to System\Original\CC5.exe because C:\Program Files\SSI\Close Combat Invasion Normandy\CC5.exe does not exist"

Win 7 has two Program files ; the first is "Program Files" for 64 bit and the second is "Program Files (x86)" which is 32 bit. If I install the original  game CC5 to the latter I keep getting the error box with the message above. If I try installing the original game the the former by removing (x86)
it will install to 64 bit program files: however then I get a duplicate set of win7 64 program files in addition to the original Program Files.. a real screw up. and it still doesn't install.
I think the problem has to do with the Config Manager Installer looking looking for original installation under "Program Files" which is the 64 bit Program and can't find them as the installation was made to Program Files (x86)
How do I fix this?

AFAIK you cant fix it. The CC5 install path to \Program Files, which Win7-64 doesnt permit, is hard coded into ConfigMgr. Which is why I suggested Plan B. Why didnt extracting the individual mod files from the .PLN/.ZIP and copying them to their respective CC5 game folders work?

Hello Thumb,

Thank you for trying to help me out. I appreciate it. Strangely no one else offered up any other solution though I am sure other CC gamers have
installed Mods having a Win7 64 bit O/S.
I did find the solution. In the Config Manager under System there was no Original CC5 installed therefore the reason for the Error Message.
So all I did was move the CC5 original installation I did in SSI folder Program Files (x86) to Program Files. That's it!!!!!!  Duh!!!

I'm having the same problem I think - utterly computer illiterate but I've been struggling to install mods for CC5 for three days now. I've clicked done all the "Administrator" changes as recommended but nothing works.  I have Windows 7 and this is the problem I'm sure as everything used to work fine on my old laptop (XP).

The latest stage I've got to is - when I go to Config Manager and try to install GJS mod -  "Failed to copy C:\program files\SSI\Close Combat Invasion Normandy\Data Campaign\Grand Campaign to System\Original\Grand Campaign (Error code =5)

Can anyone suggest anything?  Many thanks in advance.
