So I recently started my first Gold Juno Sword campaign. After several restarts, we finally got the hang of playing CC5 on game ranger (miscellaneous wait times and errors).

However, one issue had us restart several times, and is currently screwing with the GC as a whole.

My units are deploying at random locations starting with ______ Beach (The one from Campaign 1, where the men land at the port looking map with the stairs on the bottom and the sandy bunker lined beach up top... split in the middle with a small channel. Sorry if this isn't descriptive enough, however I don't think it is the main point of this issue).

The other BGs all seem to land at their appropriate areas. However, I mostly moved my first wave off of the beaches after securing the inland Exit VLs, leaving the supply depots in German hands to my follow up waves.

When they land, it seems to be at random, yet consistent per map. The only exception to this being Sword Beach, which has found me enter the map from both the top and the bottom, however one of these engagements might have been the result of me moving onto that map from an adjacent one.

When this happened with my second wave, I chalked it up to miscommunication behind the german lines, as one of my BGs was making a strong run on Caen (is there currently at day 3 or so). Only one or two Bgs landed, and I think only one engaged the enemy upon landing.

With the third wave having just arrived, I'm having a hard time justifying this rationale.

IS THIS NORMAL? My men are getting out of their Higgin's boats, apparently heading inland via some hidden beach not depicted in either the tactical or stategic maps, and then attacking the enemy from their landing zones.

OKAY, makes sense when I write it that way.

But what really seems to be happening, is that the Game seems to think that the men are entering the map from inland, which we all know is not the case.
-----------

We have installed, uninstalled, and basically ripped apart our setups...

Although we are new to GJS, I know that second wave beach landings occur with the Germans holding almost the entire map in the normal Cherbourg campaign, with the Allies barely clinging at a beach VL to start.

-------------

If some of my facts do not seem right... chalk it up to the fog of war, thats how I've made it this far through the Grand Campaign... but believe me, I have been playing this series for well over a decade and I am quite sure that this should not be happening to our game.

Thank you for your time,

and I hope someone can help me with this before we have to switch to another mod.... Sad

Is this something I should know by now? Is there anything I might be doing to create this situation?

I don't think it is anything you are doing anything wrong.

It comes down to VL placement and that the Allies in the original game attacked from that side of the strat map (the land direction) thus when a new Allied BG arrives the game is probably selecting the closest entry VL to that direction on the map it appears on.
