Good luck!  I hope he gets in.  Sounds like he has some connections in the biz.  So glad Peter Jackson is making this movie.  Almost everything else Hollywood is producing these days is a bunch of garbage not worth paying a single $ to view.  I hope Peter Jackson makes some WWII movies too , since Spielberg seems to have lost interest.

Problem is that he is using the Swedish bad boy Mikael Persbrandt as Beorn, but the girls will be happy as always with bad boys Confused

Looking forward to the two movies anyway Smile

They say "inspired by true events" translation it will not be historically accurate and have the typical Hollywood spin.  "1944. World War II rages and the fate of the free world hangs in the balance. "  Trailer caption is also wrong.  By 1944, the Air War was already settled and the Germans lost air superiority for good...not even able to maintain tactical air superiority over a single battle on any front.

George Lucas does not make many films though - very rare to see him make one on WWII, I believe this is his first.

Looks spectacular but not historically accurate (as said by Dj) a bit like Stalingrad of Jean Jacques Annaud. But I'm a little tired by all these sanctimonious movies (men of honour, Indigènes, etc...).

: D, reminds me of fly boys... god damn I loved that movie! Gotta do it right, lose half the squadron in the first battle... really helps to build up a sense of "wow, it could happen to any of them at any time!"

The story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American pilots to fly in a combat squadron during World War II...........
starring Cuba Gooding Jr. & Ne-Yo & Method Man and other various blacks.
filmed on location in a studio in California somewhere and in Prague and the Czech Republic.

sounds like the blacks just wanted there own war movie to me.
another CGI fest no doubt

I think we all should be happy that anyone actually makes a aircombat WW II movie...

I really dont think that the Germans had four Me 262 in the air at the same time but i dont know, looking good anyway  :D

btw i thought the US bombers didnt keep the green colour in 1944 Question

the germans had 4 ME 262's up at one time and more...up to between 20 to 40 at one time for a brief periods in 1945......the allies shot down most of them by picking them off as they tried to land at there airfields when they were out of fuel. they didnt shoot down too many of them in air combat. the ME 262 was quite a bit faster than anything the allies had at the time, but did have its flaws.
the ME 262's would start a diving run high astern from the bombers and dive through the escorts and come up from below the bombers to bleed off speed and shoot up the bomber from the rear and then break off downwards.

Mats, I have had a few beers with him before and I know his favourite watering hole.  It's a well kept secret and not actually that far from where they filmed LOTR either, in fact it's just a stagger stagger crawl crawl slip fall getup stagger stagger down the road with the three centre lines..or just a short cab ride back to his place in the side of the hill where the cabbie and him laugh at your Aussie accent...fish and chips/fush n chups, tomato/tomatoe.

lucky the ME 262's werent released earlier or the allies wouldve had a real tough time in the air. i think they werent as reliable because of the jet engine so quite a few had to be abandoned mid flight
