Hi fellas,

new to this game but have some questions. Saw this game on youtube and said this game is for me. Coming over from "Hearts Of Iron 3".
My question are:

1. Is Close Combat 5 the latest version? And where can I buy the game?

2. I see there are Mods for each versions. Do I need to do anything else once i download the Mod to the orginal game. What I mean by that, do i need to move files into folders to make the mod work?

3. I saw Close Combat Iron (something), is this another latest version.

4. Can I play as the US from Normandy all the way to Berlin? Is there such a game or do I need to keep adding mods to make this happen?

5. Can i play as an open sand box?

6. If I get Close Combat 5 "longest day" can I add the "Battle of Berlin" as a mod to his version?

Thanks for any help.

1. CC5 is the last of the real CC games, if we mean the original Atomic CC-games, if we disregard the private versions.
Buy it from here: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=close+combat+normandy&_sacat=See-All-Categories

Some fined CC stuff at various places, I hide the link below as some ppls eyes will popout otherwice:

2. You may need configmanager to handle the pln, get it from here CCS has a large download aria. Remember, First make a full install of CC5 at the suggested dir, and then install the pln manager at its suggested dir.. I believe one manually need to make a video folder to get things running.  Theres guids here covering it, I suggest reading it as it’s a bit tricky to get CC5 running at first.. Run it as Win XP compatible...

3. Not really.

4. Hm, lets see, 1. Normandy, 2. GJS mod, maybe 3. The Battle of the Scheldt mod hm, maybe 4. ABTF mod, 5. Ardennes Offensive and then 6. Battle of Berlin (though making a U-turn if u know what i mean..) Then 6. 1946 mod by FF. Uhh, that was a bit to far..  So u can but not continus..

5.mmmm, sand box… What’s that? I once had my lap top on the beach, u know, lots of sand there.., can’t recommend it though.

6. No

Still today CC5 dominates the H2H games played. Wellcome..

Hey claystone,

4: Scheldt mod covers a Canadian forces campaign in October 1944. I believe there is a Huertgen Forest mod out there where you can play as US. There is a Rhineland mod in the works for LSA that will include US troops. Not due within the next 2 years though.
6. CC 5 "The Longest Day" is not compatible with CC5 mods.
