Greetings,

Tonight for the first time in what must be 5 years I tried to play a multiplayer game of CC3 with a friend. We first tried playing locally with a network cable linking 2 laptops. We disconnected from the net and disabled both AV and firewall programs on both machines and were able to set a game up, the problem was regardless who set the game up within a few minutes of play commencing one of the laptops locked up, with no response from the mouse, we could get the task manager up with Ctrl, Alt, Del but then that froze, the whole thing locked up and needed a hard reset. It is worth nothing that on the machine that locked up audio sound effects continued normally as I continued to play on the other machine with gunfire and explosions being played as and when expected.

We then tried a game over the net using Game Ranger and the same thing happened again to the same machine.

Both machines the same make and nearly the same model the only difference is the cpu and quantity of ram and both have the same compatibility settings (troubleshooter recommended settings worked fine in single player and we also tried XP SP2 and 3 and win 98, again all work fine but all settings have same problem with multiplayer on the new laptop.)  and are both running windows 8.1 64bit.

The machine that locks up is brand new, only a week old and has literally only been used to create restore disks, wipe off any preinstalled garbageware, install Eset Nod security suite, spyware blaster, malwarebytes, ccleaner and CC3, and CC3 runs fine on it single player without issue.

Sadly we only have 1 copy of CC2, 4 and 5 so 3 is the only game we can play multiplayer and we really would like to, can anyone offer any assistance in getting this to work, pretty please
