Hi TWJunky,
A methodology was developed to help simulate small arms in a way that represents their expected combat effectiveness based on in game performance. Changes were made after GJS 6.0 ... and extensive play testing followed.
The data you see is intentional.

since you did extensice testing and tweaked the values:

No Jam or Break Quality, Heat Rate, Cool Rate

I am sure that you can explain to me what they do, because i did extensive testing myself and couldn´t get any differing results by temering with these values.

yes i am was aware of the discsription. I tried playing with those stats but i could get any overheating/ breaking of the weapon. I even dumped wepan durabilty to 0. but nothing happend, the mg 42 gunner team blew their 1250 rounds super fast because i also tweaked the aim and fire round from clip to 1. since you have more pratice with this maybe you could try it also and see if you can come up with better results. if it were possible to overheat/break a weapon, there would finaly be a drawback to high rate of fire weapons which in turn produce a lot of heat. so no more unrealistic buffing brens and low rpm weapons giving them more killing power with range damage modifieres. do you see what i am trying to get at here?

Hi,
I think a MG jamming should be a rare occurance...
and isn't a first choice method for balancing weapon types.

What is it that you are trying to accomplish?

have you every shot an MG? I served in the austrian army (mandatory service :/). the personal carrier i was driving had a MG 3 mounted ontop. this weapon jammed on a regualr basis. every coupple of bursts it had to be manually reloaded and then was firing again. that wasn´t a long procedure but something like that does reduce your rate of fire.  so jaming is a thing. i recon that gets especially bad when temperature rise in and the internal metal parts start to expand, changging the dimensions
Regardless i dont think that these stats matters at all in game, as I said the i didnt get any results when temering with: No Jam or Break Quality, Heat Rate, Cool Rate. they look like dead stats to me.
since you have more experince than i do, maybe you can confirm by tryin it out yourself Smile?

I don't know if you did this already, but try the modified weapons with poor troops. In Stalingrad I get "repairing" lots on mounted and crew served weapons.

A lot can go wrong with machine guns whilst doing heavy duty... Ammo feeding mechanism problems, problems with the barrel overheating or obstructed chamber by torn off cartridge... Sometimes they can jam very heavily, you need to kick the weapon to unjam it. So when using an mg, you certainly will need to be prepared to fix any problem with the weapon. Inside vehicles it can be even more difficult to fix a problem since there is less space to operate.

And thx for this fine AAR.  Cool
