103 years, a German submarine (UC47) was rammed and then repeatedly depth-charged by a royal navy vessel, Patrol Boat P57.

German intelligence at the time believed her documents were captured by the allies.....

On the same page is another interesting article on the finding of USS Greyback a US sub sunk in the Sea of Japan...

My brother mentioned to me how disheartened he was about the complacency of kids these day on the world wars, That in 50 years time it will be virtually erased from memory of all but a few..... I hope not but I think he may be right, like so many of our era the war and its terrible cost were an every day fact of life. In 50 years it won't be so.... life rolls on.

You know if you don't live it.... You can't give it.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
