Seems the govt thinks its not a good idea to have a tank in your drive way....

Interestingly he kept no secret of it, using it as a snow plow on a serious winters day....

A $400,000.00 fine is a bit over the top for keeping history alive.....

Fking fun police are everywhere  Rolling Eyes

Not mentioned in that article, but on a Dutch news site, is that just 50K is to be paid to the German state. The remainder is to be paid to charity, like an animal shelter and a hospice.
The man was not prosecuted for the (presumably) illegal nazi parafernalia that in Germany are often associated with the glorification of nazism.
Bottom line: he was not just a wealthy excentric but possibly a nazi adept as well.

Interesting the OLD generation still can't let go in many cases of dedication to Nazi regime but even a Panther.  It's like the Trump cult here they wlll go to grave swearing allegiance to him no matter what.  Curious why it took the German courts some six years to sentence him.  And if someone is found guilty, don't understand why the need for Privacy requirement.   At least Germany is consistent with Privacy laws.

Yes here we have people whom would complain their Civil Rights are being violated or they are "victim" of Deep State if law enforcement arrived to seize even a tank.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
