I just began using a configuer manager(config 5.1) for my CC3 mods. I have 8 mods on the configuer manager and they all install and uninstall just fine then I tried the 1945 mod. It installed and I enjoyed playing it but when it came time to uninstall I got a long error message about missing files-elements. The mod would not uninstall. I had to uninstall CC3 and start over. I tried a clean install with patch but when I installed 1945 mod again I got the same error again when I tried to uninstall it.
reconscout, there were some entries missing in the install.txt that would instruct the manager to make copies of the original files. Then when it tries to uninstall them they aren't there.
To do this right, you should replace the install.txt and uninstal.txt files in the .pln file with these ones.
Rename the 1945.pln to 1945.zip
Unzip the file, and overwrite the two files with these ones.
Zip the folder back up, and then change the extension from .zip back to .pln
Replace the 1945.pln in your CCIII Configuration Manager\Plugins folder with your new one.
Delete the CCIII Configuration Manager\System\ Packages\1945 folder
Open your CCIII Configuration Manager\System\config.dat file with Windows Notepad and remove the "1945" entry listed under "Installed:"
Save the config.dat
You will probably need to start with a fresh install of CCIII and add the patch to it again.
Once you have CCIII ready to go again, start your Configuration Manager and wait for it to unzip the .pln file. Then you can install 1945 and play a game.
I keep a copy of the patched game on my hard drive called "CCIII-stock- patched" just for this reason. That way if a plugin fails, you can just empty the CCIII folder and copy and paste your backup files into it. Saves having to go through the install every time.
