Hi, i comes from china, so i type this in this forum.
i cant play mod because my cc5 is chinese version. after i download the plugin and want to install it via CfgV13.exe. it always run error.
i check the reason is that when cfg want to backup my original files in org format, it cant find original files in my folder because the file name doesn't match each other, our chinese is in unicode and your plugin is in ASC.
now i cant find any english version or iso, can here any cc fans send me some files , there are very small in size. i need the files in
data\Ops
data\Battles
It would be nice to establish some sort of link between China and everyone else here.
This problem of the mods not being compatible is interesting and I think the 1st time I heard of it. Maybe we can get some of the more popular mod plugin scripts fixed to make them playable for them?

benny, there should be a file included with the plugin manager called plugin.txt that gives a fairly good explanation of how to write plugins. The install.txt and uninstal.txt should have the same number of script entries.
They are very similar to writing good old fashioned DOS batch files. Those were the bad old days............"Bad Command or file name"..............aaaaaaaarrrrghhhhhhhhhh.........
The one weakness of the plugin manager is that when an install fails.......it won't uninstall the files changed up to the error in the script..........but the error message will tell you which entry is incorrect.
A big time saver is to have a backup of your CCV files (with the patch) in a separate folder when you are testing your plugin script. If it fails, you can just copy and paste the backup files to your CCV directory for your next test.
Before trying your plugin script again you will need to delete the files from the System/Original folder and edit the config.dat file using notepad to fool the config manager into thinking the mod is not installed.
A little tip: the scripts use tabs as seperators; when you are using notepad to write or edit plugin scripts, makes sure not to have any spaces at the end of the lines. This WILL cause the plugin to fail. It must be a hard return after the last character of each line. A quick way to check is to highlight the script.........and check for any overhanging spaces.
get the same problm for french version, and was able to fix it after many month to try.
1st things is to fix the name og the folder game when u install it ...
By 2 time u have to rename file by the english version name...
2nd you have to switch some file in campaign, operation and battle folder...
Once all this is done, your game will still in "none english version" but for the PC it will look like a english one
Tout est possible ... il faut juste connaitre quand.
