PostPosted: Mon Nov 12, 2007 10:57 am Post subject: Sneak peak of the Indonesian combatants (WIP) Reply with quote

November 10 (2 days ago) is the anniversary of the Battle of Surabaya, so I think it's the perfect time to finally reveal some screenshots of the Indonesian combatants. Still pretty much WIP, so we can only show you some select TKR (Army) squads and BGs...plus a comparison of the rank graphics (thanks to Uberdave and KG Mod for the Japanese officer rank graphics and the ranks data!)

Great images.

The mod has a great look, and is not based on the East or West front, i like the Pacific games, Okinawa is great, yankin Ghol could be great aun Surabaya ...... a hibrid between Berlin (urban warfare) and an asian mod.... Rolling Eyes

A little question, what % of the game is finished???

PD: sorry for my english.

Thanks! We had to resort to using computer artwork for the team/squad art (BG Icons) due to lack of photos for the Indonesian units...but I hope people like the look of the mod. It's certainly a change from the usual B&W historical pics for the BG Icons.

The game is far from finished though Sad
- The graphics/artwork is only about 90% done (should be done by next month though).
- Data is done (Brits data will be revisited for historical accuracy thanks to Dima's awesome work on GJS TRSM).
- Playtesting (single battles, Ops & GCs) is coming along nicely...using Berlin, Stalingrad, Normandy maps mostly. We're using a stratmap with beta artwork for playtesting Ops and GCs.
- I've also experimented on Vetmods for the mod, hopefully we can fine tune the AI and make the mod as challenging for the single player experience as pzjager's SDK (and upcoming SoC).
- All the custom exe and dll editing for texts, soldier uniforms, stratmap etc is done.

So ... what the mod lacks currently are maps! 44 custom maps (with some reworked maps) of Surabaya. The team will be busy mapping, painting and coding maps in the coming months. Arrrrgggggg!!!!

Looks great Squadleader. I wouldn't worry about the unit graphics, they look great. Besides just about everybody can resize a photo, as can be seen by the fact that so many mods use photos. The artwork takes a lot of work compared too photos.

The ranks also look nice.

I'm not the greatest map maker, but I'll be willing to help. Actually I'm willing to help you out with anything. Just let me know.

Thanks for the compliments, ppl Smile
And Nembo...glad you like the artwork. We might take up your offer to help with the maps...thanks!
We might also need help if we get stuck coding the maps (after we get some sample maps painted of course).
