Hey Guys,

As some of you might know i'm serving in the Dutch armed forces. Because of our presence in the south of Afghanistan I have to serve a 4,5 month tour starting the beginning of April.
Due to fact that I have not recieved all the files that I need I am unable to release a beta or a full version of my mod. Therefore I expect it to be delayed until at least autumn of this year.

I hope you can understand this. also I wont be able to respond as quickly to pm's mails or post as you are used from me.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause .

Cheers Buck

Good luck and all the best there, Buck, and say "Hello" to Osama and Mohammed Omar for us all if you should happen to bump into them at the local market or pub. Come home safe and well, and please enjoy being deployed with the Australian troops who have been working alongside the Dutch troops there in "The Ghan" for a while and all doing a great job. But don't do anything silly, like charging stark naked and alone against a well defended Taliban bunker armed only with your bayonet and a wet sock dipped in honey. Or even attempt to challenge the Australian troops to a beer drinking contest, you'll be unconscious under the table before our blokes are even sweating or heading for their first toilet break. Plus, it's a good idea to go celibate while you're there too.

Good luck and be safe, man!
As a fellow Dutchman I fully stand behind the cause of making Afghanistan a safer place. One of the few places a multinational task force is justified.
If only a few more European countries would help us out there. Anyway, hope to see you return in good running order, and the country as well.

Cheers.

Try not to get killed...would be shame if the mod will be left unfinished.
Only joking!

Mate, I know the name Mohammed Omar might be the middle east version of Billy Joe Jim Bob (There's a Mohammed Omar who runs a great falafel/souvlaki shop I eat at here in Melbourne on occasions, when I need a midnight lamb sandwich), but I was referring to the one-eyed nutter who's supposedly in charge of the Taliban in my original post. Still, as the Americans haven't found him yet, your colleague could well be the man in question.

Oh, and Buck, speaking of our wonderful allies. Better watch out for "Friendly fire" from the Americans, they seem to be much better at shooting up the good guys than they are the bad guys there.

Hey guys

Thanks for you support. I will do my best to survive the mission safely Wink I don't think that should be very hard as i'm going there as an artillery man.

@Mooxe: I'll try to Wink How long will you stay there?

@Polemarchos: I will try to give you heads up each now and then Wink Don't worry about Wilders that guy is not more than a little ant imho he only represents the opinion of the less smarter people in my country...

@God4saken: We are not allowed to consume alcoholic drinks. And I don't drink malt beer. So you won't find me under any table Wink

@squadleader_id: Fun i will have. Seen the fact that one of our gunners acts like a comedian Wink

Cheers Buck

Hey guys,

a short update on my behalf. As you guys know i'm currently serving out my tour of duty in afghanistan. all is ok out here. its pretty hot but i have the luck that where i work we have an airco. Its relativly quiet out here at the moment but you guys will know things can change rapidly. We haven't fired our gun a lot (operational). but besides that i'm having a great time. ive been out the gate once for 2 weeks. seen a lot etc etc. also we are working a lot with australian army. its cool to work with other nations out here. i think thats the best side of going out on a tour.

i will be back home in 8-9 weeks from now. after that i'll try to make a more detailed story of what i've done over here Wink the base line of this post is to let you guys know im ok.

concerning the mod it seems to me that dima has fallen of the face of the earth. havnt heard from him in a few months now so that kind of bogs me down with the data Sad hoping he will reply me in the near future. but i fear he wont..

well anyways im still commited to finishing this mod.

Cheers Buck
