Well, I'm spanish and this is the best english that I can afford.

I played CC5 years ago and now, you make me install it again (and the Battle of Berlin MOD too) this game is awesome, the mods are awesome, and etc...

But I have a question, in the maps, its really hard to see if my troops are in a hill, of if my tank must climb an embankment...

There is a mod or something like that who put Contour Lines in the maps? It will be useful.

Thanks

Hello: a fixed point on the map, click, right click your mouse, shows you the type of terrain and height. I do not know, nor I have heard of any mod that outline maps.

Hum, this looks good but insufficient... with a contour line you can read the map with a look... and... have a good map its basic on tactic! I think its more realistic to the game, no one commander go to fight without knowing the terrain... xDDD

this MAY be the file ur look for?
Try open the map with this (i have never tried it so know lill about it):
"CC TerrainViewer
Description: Close Combat Terrain Gradient Viewer V1.0.0 Creates solid and semi opaque (Alpha) grey scale elevation maps for close combat 2,3 and 4 overviews."

http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=23

If that dont work, I can sugest you look at:
"3C_CloseCombatCartographer"
http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=556
You can set different colurs on the terain hight, thats to yer preference, and more grapix ilustrative. Here attached you see how elevaion is on this map. One may look at it as see through or solid.

Yes, it would have been a "utility" of the game, very interesting.

If you want to connect or hit some shots, passing the DAK.

A pleasant coincidence. Greetings

Si, hubiera sido una "utilidad" del juego, muy interesante.

Si te apetece conectar o pegar unos tiros, pásate por el DAK.

Una agradable coincidencia. Saludos Smile

I think that Thomm's Quasi-3D CC5 Overview Maps may be of help. They used to be available at http://closecombat.thegamers.net/files/cc53dovm.htm but that link is now dead. Does anyone still have these files?

Here is how this mod is described at God's CC Links:

Thomm designed a program that reads the map data from cc5 and generated new overview maps with this tool that shows the height differences on the maps and the different types of terrain. You can download these overview maps here. Just unzip them in your cc5\maps directory and they will be available to you when you play the game.

I believe that Thomm did the same thing for CC4 maps and you can get an idea of what the CC5 maps probably look like by looking at some of the CC4 screenshots at http://www.fortunecity.com/olympia/simpson/870.

Thomm's Quasi-3D CC5 overview maps have resurfaced thanks to Thumb. I will have them uploaded soon with instructions on how to use them. Thank you Thumb.

I should certainly be something that the developers should look at with a hot key that provides an overlay of the contours

I have created a plugin for the CC5 OVM maps by Thomm. You can download it here ---> http://www.closecombatseries.net/downloads/CC5/Submods/CC5_Classic_ThommsOVM_plugin.zip.

Not compatible with any other plugins. Must be installed on a vanilla CC5 5.01 installation only. Unzip this plugin to your /Config Manager/Plugins folder.

Thomms maps are a 3D conversion of the regular overview maps. Elevation is made much more obvious. These new overview maps can help you plan your setup and manage your battles more effectively. You can preview these maps in the CC5 Combat Gallery.

Here is one example...
